The concept of choosing a name is very interesting to me. I have been given new names twice in my life and chosen once. I was given a name at birth by my birth mother which was changed by my adoptive parents. The only name I chose for myself was to take my husband's last name when we married. Although many women do not follow this practice anymore and some are opposed to it (which I understand) for me it was empowering to actually be able to choose a name for myself. I have also thought about changing my first name and I know exactly what I would choose. At this stage in my life I will probably never do it but I sometimes think of myself with that name.

Very often we have to get to a point of hopelessness before life turns better. Good work can begin when things are at a low point. Our pain becomes a calling to a deeper personal awakening. Our spiritual state can often be improved by finding a greater sense of purpose. Does that make sense?

I’m fortunate in that I seem not to have a “monkey mind” - that incessant voice in the head that people talk about - so I’m able to be still without too much effort. Good luck with the experiment, Stacey.

My 'soul voice' 'spoke' to me several years ago when my current husband and I first met on a dating site. I felt a strong urge to push away from him but my 'soul voice' advised to 'not push away this time'. This 'voice' was authoritative yet not critical. And so, I submitted which was out of character for me. One month later I suffered a horrific iatrogenic injury, and he did not hesitate to take complete care of me during my years-long recovery. As it would turn out he had suffered the exact same injury a decade earlier.

How common are hell experiences because I've seen a lot of hell testimonys on KZbin like a lot
@TheSoulPodStudio2 ай бұрын
The University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) has studied near-death experiences (NDEs) and found that the majority of them are positive. They say no more than 15% of near-death experiences are reported as being distressing or negative. These vary in level of negativity. They don't specifically break down how many involve a hell experience but it's my understanding that the number is very low. It's not surprising you'd see many accounts of them though. I'd imagine people would want to share an experience that intense.

One problem with Norah Vincent's experiment is that she didn't become a biological man, so when she asked out other women, she was, in fact, conning them. She wasn't presenting authenticity and didn't factor in that some of the rejection she encountered was likely female intuition picking up on the fact that something was off about her. Rejection is painful, and our brains react to this type of pain in the same way we do physical pain regardless of whether we are male or female. I'd love to see a study where someone goes undercover as an unattractive woman and then an ordinary man and then have them compare/contrast those rejection experiences.

Mostly, these people lie about other people! I live alone, but when I talk to people, I do not lie to them. If you care too much about what people think of you, you are most likely to lie. Narcissists lie also because they are always competing with you and everyone else.
@SheilaDay-k6q4 ай бұрын
These people do nothing but lie. It never ends. After hello, I knew there was something wrong with each of these people. When they live next door, and another one decides to move next door in order to try to talk to you, knowing you do not have anything in common with them, it is difficult. You simply have to ignore them completely. Then, they try to ruin your reputation. GET RID OF THESE PEOPLE.

I really enjoyed this one. The aspect I see the most absent in modern-day men is a desire to provide and protect. Not just their women, but their children as well. I attribute this to the severe backlash and shaming women have done to men in the last 60 years for leading with these assets. Yes... they once were strengths that men used to dominate and control, but they have been so snuffed out that they seem to be forgotten. I also realize that these are the most tangible resource sacrifices that men have to offer, and rightfully, they should look for an equal exchange for them in a woman for providing them. I would imagine that appreciation, respect, admiration and trust would be enough to validate the cost of his sacrifice for many men. Especially when the bottom line of a woman feeling those things about her man is likely to be demonstrated physically, as authentic desire for him. Don't underestimate a woman's need to feel safe or her desire to nurture and comfort when she's free to surrender herself that way... but maybe I'm old fashioned?
