Wonderful but I really don't see the point of putting this in 4K since the original isn't in 4K and is a television transmission.

I saw this on TV in the early '90s, but remembered it as being more like a black & white sketch, and only remembered the woman undressing. I was aware there were other things going on, but could only really remember her.

when i was young, saw the video music for "midnight mover" from accept on mtv (in the end of the 90s). i remember seen and think that was a "very well" produced video for the 80s for that kind of music. took me years (by curiosity, last week) to discover who was that director. to my surprise, was the same Zbigniew Rybczynski!

This film probably was inspiration for one of episodes of popular animated series "Bluey" - Season 2, Episode 45.

Good eye. I wouldn't quite call that inspiration. It was such a blatant copy of the concept they should have noted credit to the original. ....and they didn't resolve it very well.

Don't think I've ever seen so much mutual respect and warmth on a chat show - was not a big fan of either but I wish this chat had carried on for at least an hour... 😢. Think I'll have to read both their books. How maligned was Eartha in her lifetime? Then along comes an interview like this...👌🤔👌

Thank you, thank you, David Sukonick! I was thrilled to see Dark Elegies presented with the artistry this production achieved at City Center in about 1973, I think. This video was probably made somewhat later. Martine Van Hamel's interpretation is wonderful, inspired.. Sallie Wilson was brilliant, unique in this role at about the same time. It's a great joy to see such a worthy production of this masterpiece. For decades, I have longed to see Dark Elegies again. You've given me a great gift. Once, decades later, I saw another ABT revival. One of the men, who was a technically adept performer in other repertoire, had no ability to communicate feeling in harmony with the other dancers. This beautiful work withered. Harris S.
