I would love it if someone at Paiste would explain the actual difference between the 2002, 505, and 404. Of course the 2002 is going to be more versatile and complex but they all sound musical.

You always have the sweetest sounding cymbals and this Zildjian is of no exception. Every day I add a cymbal to my wish list. Someday I will have some real gems arriving. Waiting for a used Sabian XS20 ride now. To have a full set of some top of the line cymbals is a musical dream. The playing of the kit and cymbals is always stellar! TY

How did Joe Morello's name get on this cymbal? I only know of two, the original Avedis Zildjian on his "Take Five" recording and the one A-Series "Take Five Model" reissued by Zildjian Company a few years ago. This Paiste sounds great but I don't think it is a "Take Five" model, at least not legally.
@driftdrums5218Ай бұрын
CymbalWiki: Late '65, early '66 after Ludwig took over the distribution of Formula 602's for North America, Joe Morello was approached by Bill Ludwig to endorse Paiste. Since Joe played and endorsed Ludwig Drums, he was the obvious choice for a signature cymbal set baring his name. Paiste catalog: "In personal collaboration with Joe Morello, this beautiful melodically coordinated set was created" A custom set of Formula 602 cymbals made to Joe's specification (the 1st. artist model!) comprising of 14" sound edge hi hats, 17", 18" and 20" sizes. Visual cues show much finer lathing and possibly different hammering compared to the standard 602's

@@driftdrums5218 I did not know this. Thanks! I did know that Joe had endorsed other drum models over the years, but I knew nothing about his cymbal endorsements. I would like to see a comparison of the recently re-issued Zildjian Take Five model and the above cymbal. Thanks again.

Thanks! And well said. I think that’s the exact reason why it’s a bit of a sought after snare. It has all that, but also that vintage sound to it, without getting boxy

Yes blends nicely with the other 2002's. Little demanding to get it in balance dynamically the, but that's a matter of giving it some time to find your way around the cymbal
