I am watching this after many years, but isn't there going to back at gap on the edges of the floating floor? Would it be wise to instead use spray foam after setting down the insofast boards on the edges or perimeter of the now giant rectangle, then drill in the boards? Thanks

Nice system. Unfortunately, in my area the mostly unskilled labor would make a mess of this and would not be able to consistently do all the measurements. Where I live, this would be a great DIY option. None of the contractors I know have workers who could figure this out and get good at it.

Definitely understand where you're coming from. There is a learning curve to every new product. We hope ours is easier than most products on the market for insulating and framing/retrofits, etc..We've done some projects in the past with unskilled labor...One off the top of the mind was our Urban Homeworks New Construction project! www.insofast.com/explore/urban-homeworks-community-project.html

What would happen if you were to install polystyrene ceiling boards *without* the infills / inserts ? Will condensation dripping from above be an issue ? I'm asking as I wish to line a shipping container ceiling with polystyrene boards (as per your other video), as condensation is a problem and I'm hoping this will go some way to stopping it. Great products btw (are they available in the UK ?) Thanks

We're deciding right now to either spray foam the inside or use your panels..so you're saying if we glue up the In So Fast on the interior, that will eliminate the steel from sweating... I'M leaning towards the panels but want to make sure we don't have problems down the road...thanks

My question didn’t load, Trying again. Could you do the floors first? Before the side walls to reduce cutting the 4x8 sheets ? Thanks
@insofast-continuous-insulation3 ай бұрын
It is possible, but you would want to put screws in it to hold it in place instead of doing a fully free-floating floor, as well as leaving 2 1/4 inch gaps around perimeter of the floor to allow the walls to be installed.

I first thought that this might be better than the ZIP R6 panel I was planning for the new house. Problem is that the ZIP R panel can go up with 16d nails and is my house wrap too. While your panels would probably be alot cheaper than the ZIP R, there is a ton of labor to install these panels. Plus, all the special flashings and stuff I have do around the window. I think I will stick with my staggered stud wall, ZIP R6 and closed cell foam. Since ZIP has become so common here on the coast of SC, most installers get it done correctly. New construction is probably not the best fit for your product, but a remodel might be just the thing.

Very confused as to why foam and not the adhesive was used to connect the corner piece to the shipping container. In the other videos adhesive was used to connect the panels to the container, with foam added to seal around edges.
@insofast-continuous-insulation3 ай бұрын
For the corners, we recommend using some adhesive, but the reason why it is not needed as much is because the metal bracket keeps it in place in addition to the adhesive.

Could you put the panel under the window first and then put the one underneath?
@insofast-continuous-insulationАй бұрын
Ideally, you want to work up from the bottom to ensure the panels are straight. We recommend cutting the panels to create a small enough gap to fit under the windows, then add spray foam to fill the gap.
