Dear rock stars/musicians: let your beautiful art shine forth without burden and incumbrance that often comes from political statement or other divisive chit chat. This song is stunningly beautiful and I can't get it out of my head. It is becoming a beautiful part of the tapestry of my life. A huge part of my life is being a gigging guitarist of over 40 years (rock, country, metal, classical and flamenco)... as well as a part-time vocalist in some of the gigging and recording bands that I've been a member of). I have yet to allude to or utter a single political phrase over the mic in all of these years. Being a politician is absolutely the ANTITHISIS of being an artist. Artists should unite people of varying backgrounds and life experiences. After all... isn't that what music is supposed to do, versus dividing us into camps? To transcend the pedestrian and negative threads of life and remind us that we are all truly ONE (or should be)? Anyways... I still love this song dearly. I could just do without spoken political commentary during live music shows. If I want to make such statements personally... I will do so within the framework of the lyrics. Anyways... I this is AWESOME and it's mind-boggling to me that I am so far the ONLY person to comment on it. How about just a few "WOW!!!" or DAMN!!!" comments about how deep this song speaks to the listener??? I have Ray's "Upon My Life" album in constant rotation on my playlist in my vehicles, studio, and headphones. What a freakin' GREAT album! In fact, I'm supposed to be recording guitar tracks for a friend's recording project, but instead I'm sitting here, typing about how great this song is and listening to it over and over! 🤪

2024 Freilichtbühne Friedrichshagen. Top Musiker, Gesang und Instrumente. Sehr überzeugende Darbietung aller Titel. Und, die Atmosphäre unter uns Zuschauern war super. Sehr zu empfehlen.

I can't see anyway possible that this song could have a violin as part of the instrumentation, you have me scratching my head! But it's one of my favorite Ray Wilson songs.

Kind of only fair having him sing songs from a band he nearly never was a proper member of. Is it due to wise negotiating in the first place, or is it a kind of recompense (for more or less finding his career burned on the altar of Genesis' demise)?
