Essie was good No Chips topcoat, dried fast and a brilliant nail strengthener, no chipped nails for 7 days , but it shrank too much abd the Essie Here Stay basecoat chipped! Like Seche Vite Quick Dry topcoat, dries fast but shrinks, cracks and chips too much! I'm after Glisten and Glow topcoat, reviews sound good, I'm awaiting Zoya Armor Topcoat in 2 weeks and looking at Dazzle Dry, ILNP and Vibrant Vinyls topcoat! UK 🇬🇧

I think my stamper wasn't working because I didn't know the trick The trick is with your clear squishy stamper that doesn't work Don't just put it in water with soap and then dry it off or use acetone That doesn't work what works is taking a very fine nail file and lightly filing it My stamper now works perfect. No video online explains this. Somebody told me so I'm just sharing the knowledge if nothing anybody says about the stamper is working try taking a very fine nail file to it worked for me

The only thing I don't like about Seche Vite is that it "shrinks" once it's dry, and it carries the polish beneath it, so if you don't go extremely precise on your top coat, it'll leave a noticeable mark. Btw "seche vite" means "dry fast" lol.

I bought a pack of Born Pretty stamping polishes as they were highly recommended, but I cannot get the image to lift at all. I have tried different plates and different stampers and the same thing. I have other stamping polish that does work with the plates and stamper but I was just wondering if you may know if I am doing something wrong. Thanks for a great and helpful video!

Wow! If the plates and stampers work with other polishes, sounds like a polish problem. I’ve always had good experiences with the born pretty stamping polish so I’m really surprised! I’m sorry to hear that’s happening to you.

I think people just pick themselves apart and notice every imperfection, and we all tend to use a magnifier on any of our imperfections. I agree that all nails are pretty and that it's about self care and being kind to yourself during and after taking some time to decorate a little corner of ourselves. Self Care as in caring for oneself, which is always better when we are E doing it in a loving way.💜💜💜

seche vite is SO GLOSSY. and i find i don't like that. essie looks to calm tf down and is gloss without being ridiculous. i like more of a satin or less GLOSS IN YER FACE look. thank you for this. im going to order the essie. : ). *NOTE: seche vite is also migraine in a bottle.

All of Essie’s top coats are the best I’ve ever used. I’m a former manicurist and have natural nails. I’ve tried them all (not really, but all the top brands 😉). Every time, every type (reg., gel, fast-drying, etc.), Essie came out on top!

I tried Essie No chips topcoat but it shrank at the sidewalls after 2 days, good grip, soaked off in the bath like a Peel off basecoat! Nice shine! The best fast dry is Sally Hansen Insta dry clear Topcoat, dries fast, but it chips fast! Glisten & Glow topcoat and basecoat and Morgan Taylor are good recommended new brands! Too much, pricey £14/$17 for 12ml/2oz. All a con! UK 🇬🇧

Hi Kay, I'm Rose, a new subscriber to your channel and also a brand new youtuber with nails as part of what I show. I don't test out products and as of now I don't plan to. I am happy I can send people over to you for this because you do a great and scientific job!! For top coat, have you ever tried ProNai QDTC? It's AMAZING!!! As a hairdresser for 35+ years its what i always saw the manicurists using, so when i saw it on Amazon i JUMPED!! Now i buy it 16 oz at a time for about $28 (i think, that lasts me like forever to use). You probably talked me into trying that $25 stuff from OPI in the hopes it can replace my pld swaer-by of Nailtiques as it seems maybe they stopped making it.😭 I saw your video seems to be okay to do a remix, though currently idk what all that really means or entails. My understanding is that it can be beneficial to both channels. I need some clips and images of chipped nails and would always like to be beneficial to a sister youtuber I'd recommend. Let me know your thoughts. P.S. I'd love to see a comparison of base coat/top coat sets. Like both by the same company meant to be used together.🧚♀️💜💜💜
@what_kay_says2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! You are so sweet! I've never tried ProNail QDTC. I'll need to look into it, thanks! If you choose to use the OPI, I hope it works well for you! As long as the videos/pictures you use in your videos falls under Fair Use, I think is perfectly fine :) Thanks for the suggestion on a video on base/top coat sets. I've always wondered if that could make a difference.

The Essie No Chips and Seche Vite Dry fast topcoats dried really quickly, impressed! CND STICKEY basecoat and CND SHINE topcoat are £17/$20 each 68ml, they can't wait! Seche Vite Quick Dry topcoat did shrink away from my nails! All a big con but Essie basecoat Here to Stay 13.5 is a good adhesive basecoat, thinner than a lot of polish and economical! And my old gels can go on my toes, don't chip on my toes! Essie for me! UK 🇬🇧 8.4.24

I'm looking at Xtreme Wear, it looks good. I bought a load of Essie and the No Chips topcoat just chipped off within 1 day! But good glossyness! The Essie Here Stay basecoat just chipped. The Essie 5ml polish Candy Apple just wouldn't dry! I need quick dry drops.! I used Elegant touch nail dry spray! Great! I give up! The nail industry is an expensive SCAM! Who can pay £14/$18 for a tiny 8ml of polush! Essie, FIX UP! Uk 🇬🇧 21.3.24

Have you ever tried out the door? I actually like it better than seche vite. It doesn’t get thick and gloopy but still looks gel like. People always ask if I have gel on because my nails are so shiny.

I also have poison and I agree if can generally look more orange in real life, but its just really shifty so at some angles you can see more red. I know kelli marissa and like half a million other people and their mother have made videos on how to do the paperclip method, but as far as I know kelli one of the few to tey it with actual polish and not gel.
@what_kay_says4 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I hadn’t seen the paper clip method besides the one tik tok, so I’m definitely behind in the trend! I will have to check the video out from Kelli.
@ariannasv224 ай бұрын
@what_kay_says A quick update, I don't remember if kelli was successful but youtube recommended me someone called saturnailia and she was able to get decent success with it. From what I've seen from a handful of videos, the trick is to use a kind of thicker paperclip, ideally one made with steel, keep the leg closest to the nail curved, and adjust the distance of the magnet on the second leg, moving it further or closer away from the twisted leg. At least that's what I remember. Oh and also remember to use the repelling side to push all the particles to the middle.

I have tried the warm soapy water and after drying I place it on top of a clean paper (copy paper ) and fold the half of the paper on top of it and put a heavy book to squeeze out the oils that are in the stamper and what they absorb. I have never had to prime my stamper with these other methods that cloud my stampers. I like to be able to see with my clear stampers. Great video though, especially to inform someone who's new to this.

The Crystal over black really looks like black opal (the stone)! I wonder if over a milky light blue polish, it could look like regular opal, with those red and green flashes. Likewise, maybe several coats of the sugar over a light creamy pink (or blue) base would have a confection like effect?

Can you keep using it 2 x’s per day after the initial 6 days? My nails were extremely damaged after wearing press on nails for a long time. I’ve been using this product as directed for the 6 days. My nails are a bit better but not fully.

I have shooting star and I absolutely love it. Saw it upon release, loved it. Saw it in a swatch video, loved it. Ordered it and swatched it in person, loved it. I usually do my nails at night when I have a ton of down time so I personally don't mind the wait, but I also dont prefer the sharp lines. It also looks just as cute unmagnetized imo

I remember first seeing stampers in the early 2000s. We used to go to this little shopping outlet thing and there was a kiosk that sold these. I remember there was a lady that always worked there and she would stamp a cute design onto our fingers and I always thought it was so cool. I think my mom ended up buying a kit later on, but for some reason my mom thought actual nail polish was "too grown up" for me and my sister so I never personally used it. Only recently have I started getting back into polish. No stamping yet but maybe I will get a kit in the future :)
