Anyone who doesn't believe that music is a conduit to a higher consciousness needs to listen to this....Robin Trower's playing is transcendent.....James Dewar's exquisite vocals, ethereal_this is truly music of and for the gods_

I have always loved this song since the 70s. I bought the album when it came out. I saw him at the House Of Blues years ago. Long time fan.

this song is the best for summer time, its so joyful and just so beautiful, the background chirpings of the insects and instruments used here, and how they are played really set the mood for a good summer vacay! thank you XTC

As beautiful as when it first came out. Have given the album as a present to many people including the girl I was supposed to be with forever - it didn’t work out that way but she liked the album though!

Me and my mate always argue about who is the greatest English band of all time, he says Roxy Music, I say XTC. I admit it’s a close call! PS. I’ll exclude the stones and the Beatles as i get them but never been a huge fan of either.

-Lyrics- Long misty days Told me they would change their ways Once in a while will come my way The thrill is gone Misty days linger on and on Once in a while is here to stay We feed this fire Lovers in a nursery rhyme The words belong to you And the melody was mine Long misty days Told me in a million ways Once in a while will come my way Oh how the moon Shining at a lonely room Weeping willow cry for me Sing me a song Simple as the day is long I love someone crying to be free And take the sky And tell me if the moon is blue And if it's meant to be That my melody was used Long misty days Told me in a million ways Once in a while will come my way Long misty days Told me they would change the ways Once in a while is here to stay

Andy's woozy, humid rumination on the sunniest season giving way to Colin's sweetly suggestive ode to love al fresco: a great start to one of my favorite albums.
