I have a question. Do they eat chicken feed or they eat something different? And how cost effective is feeding quail birds as against chickens?
@FarmlyLivestockFarm
@FarmlyLivestockFarm Жыл бұрын
They have their own feed. But people have normalised the trend of giving them chicken feeds. Just the same way chickens have food for different stages of life, so do quails have. When it's quail versus chicken, feeding quail is way more cost effective than feeding chicken. I don't if I answered your question. If I didn't, please send in more questions THANK YOU.

Also, is it not possible for the eggs to be hatched by the birds themselves
@FarmlyLivestockFarm
@FarmlyLivestockFarm Жыл бұрын
Oh yes, it is possible for them to do so. But they only brood(sit on their eggs) in their brooding season. And also, if the hen is left alone in a cage and provided some straws to build her nest with, she definitely would brood in the brooding season. I would give out more details in the QUAIL EGG video dropping next week. So, please subscribe to my channel to get notified when I drop this video. Do have a great day ahead.

Wow! Very informative video. But how do we differentiate between the table eggs and the fertile eggs.
@FarmlyLivestockFarm
@FarmlyLivestockFarm Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Mr oluwole for you comment and questions. it's easy to differentiate. 90% of the time, you can only differentiate them after a period of five days from the day of lay. There is a special kind of flash light/torch light used to do so. But in the absence of none, turn on the flash light on your phone, place the tip of the egg, either pointed side or the rounded side on the light. You would notice a dark circle in the middle of the egg and you also would see tiny veins inside the egg. So, that egg is fertile. The reverse will be the case for a table/infertile egg. I'm going to create a video on this topic in a week's time. So you would see me do it practically. Please subscribe to my channel to get notified when I drop the video. Have a great day ahead.
