Shooting distance depends on your IR light. You could comfortably see 300m. With a good light. I use a 67mm lense fox light.

@@carlomancuso3142 Thanks for your reply Carlo.Over here in our public blocks the deer are already getting very glow shy from any electronics at night so we need to use covert IR's i.e. no glow.

I do like the ATN on the moon less night, battery life is great.. Pulsar is great when you go some moon light.. must trun off when traveling from property to property

Just keep in mind that the pulsar is a night scope. The ATN is day and night..

I hunt public and private. I value the fair chase on public land and have taken plenty. But nothing wrong with taking them at night time on private. Especially when you utilise all the meat and help out the property owner with deer numbers because most don’t like them. Also this is not poaching in any way.

@@devinb3397 it’s legal yes to cull under the act according to the requirements of the act www.gma.vic.gov.au/hunting/deer/where-to-hunt/fact-sheets/controlling-problem-deer-on-private-property. Many don’t understand this or comply and videos of new ways to ‘hunt’ at night aren’t helping with the amount of illegal activities including spotlighting that don’t comply with the regulations and for instance hog deer. Good you hunt fair n square during the day.
