The game was fun, but ot was a real arcade title with a gameplayloop of the same town and improving your score. No progression or goals to fulfill. Driver and GTA3 came later and basically made free roaming games a lot more interesting.

Crazy Taxi is really solid. I never played it until I got my Dreamcast a few years ago and it was the first game that I bought for it that didn't come with the bundle I had. Like I have a Dreamcast how can I not have Crazy Taxi? It's just one of those games that I love popping into the system, playing a game or two, and then I don't touch it again for a while. Killer soundtrack, great controls, and of course I just love that late 90s branding on everything in the game that I feel adds to the charm of it.

I imagine most of the hate is because the episode is mean spirited towards Spongebob in that latter half. But when one episode has more laughs than some entire comedies, it's hard to consider it as anything close to 'bad'

When I was a kid in 85 I was already liking metal and wrestling, then here come the Road Warriors to the sounds of Iron Man by Sabbath!!! Holy shit!!!! Spikes , mohawks, face paint and them just smashing people to heavy metal music sealed the deal for me, I was a fan of both genres for life!!! And I am 46 now still headbanging and watching wrestling lol!!!

Surprised to you compare the special and game since there's almost no connection between the two from what I recall, and the game was just titled that due to Nickelodeon's decisions to tie with the show's specials.

I am glad you and others enjoyed this game as much as I did as a kid. This is probably my second favorite game only to SSX3. I was absolutely blown away by the step up they made from Tricky to SSX3. What a great team. They did such a great job. These games are the reason I will never throw away my PS2.

SSX 3 is a lot more cohesive and fleshed out, it’s like a little universe but Tricky’s jank physics and overall character and presentation keep it as my favorite

so I grew up with this one, and I understand your point. I’m not saying there’s nothing of value here, otherwise I wouldn’t have revisited it, there’s fun set pieces and great style in terms of visuals and music but the game is a little jerky, yes.
