Can chalk it up mostly to difference in genres and also the devs. Unturned is more on survival and has a plethora of different food and drinks. Also the Mod Dev might have just wanted to make the eating animations more immersive. While EFT is more of an action-focused shooter game where not taking too much of the players time on an animation makes a lot of sense.

Absolutely fantastic mod showcase! I'd probably cook more complicated food far more often if eating prepared meals and drinks provided more benefits than just filling up your hunger and thirst. Thank you for this!

Making alcohol did do so, they restored your immunity on a great deal, of you ever go into a more primitive playstyle, this comes in handy whenever you get your immunity low (plus it gives good hydration) plus, to me at least, cooking on this game is a challenge on itself, the premise being "hell no, the apocalypse will not stop me from having a nice and good meal" that and it saves a lot of inventory space by making the foods and restores the hunger bar way more than just eating the ingredients by themselves or raw
