What a sweet boy! He does look very sad. What was his name, before? I rescued a dog once that had been abused by his owner - a neighbor. The vet said he reacted with fear to his original name, and I should give him a new one. I figured it should sound a little like the old one to help him get used to the new name but different enough for him to feel grade when he heard it. His old name was Campion, his new name was Handsome Sam. It only took a couple of days to figure it out. He was a very smart boy, as well as handsome. He was the sweetest boy! It was so odd because when we’d be out walking, if he saw someone from the neighbor’s family, he would completely ignore them (except the aunt and the grandma - he LOVED them and would always run over to greet them!). He was three when I adopted him, and 12 when he passed from cancer. He was my best friend!
