One thing about measuring is that it's consistent. So when you get a great loaf, you'll know what and how much you put in, so that you can repeat the great results.

Sorry for a late reply! I don't really count, I just do it when I walk through the kitchen until it's about time for bed, then I put it in the fridge to proof

This is good advice. Best way to learn is just to do it. Trying to keep to a set of rules is good for starting out getting into a process, and then to figure out what to adjust if you are having a problem, but yes once you've gotten it to work once or twice it is definitely better to develop a feel for when things are right. And in fact, just like everyone's starter is unique, every time you bake your kitchen environment is unique (unless you would have the benefit of a professional setup). Temperature changes, humidity, etc... so sometimes following the same steps exactly next time doesn't get the same results anyway so being able to assess when you need to adjust makes more consistent bread. When you get going sourdough is actually really forgiving. It's pretty hard to get something unusable.

Thank you, for being very real! This is so doable for me. Although I’ve made regular bread from scratch, my sourdough journey has just begun. I was excited to watch these easy steps as I was making it with you! As for the stains, every once in awhile I will soak stained things in Ivory dish soap overnight. Thank you again! 😃 Praise the Lord🙌🏻

If you scored the top before baking would that help with rising?

I wasn't able to show the scoring because I had a mishap while putting it in the dutch oven but I always score my bread in an x

Do you have a how to make a starter video
@TheCourtneyadventures3 ай бұрын
Not yet, but soon. Because it takes so many days to fully start a starter , I'm hoping to finish in the next week or two! It'll show the daily progress of the starter and what needs to be done each day :)

Also, I roll my eyes when they say, "It works on a molecular level." Doesn't water also work on a molecular level? And I don't think they even know what that means. It just sounds sciency. I have had at least 10 friends trying to be my "health coach". It's annoying.

I only wear that on stage when I don't have time to reapply because I still need to drink lots of water. If I eat anything greasy, it starts to come off. Not a fan of MLM's. I would rather buy everything at the store.
