Thanks bud. I am thinking of replacing my stock headlights bulb to LED ones. This will surely help me DIY my bike.

My back wheel is turning as its on tick over on the stand but running at high speed on idle, could you help or advise what to do, the back wheel only stops when I put the back break on. But soon I take the back brake off the back wheel just spins as if it wants to take off as if you were doing about 30mph luckily I had it on middle stand, can you advise what to do please

i love this scooter. What I am not a fan of are the ankward seating position; I find it hard to be comfortable for long distances. It might be perhaps of the pothole ridden surfaces I ride on, though.

My throttle return spring snapped the other night. It started accelerating uncontrollably while coming to a red light. I was thrown off of it and I’m just wondering like how I would go about replacing it on the carb?

I recently bought a 2012 super 8, 150 and love riding in my neighborhood! I’ve seen all your videos! Quick question for you, the temperature gauge you have mounted is a great idea, is it the type that loops around the spark plug? Thanks!
@wkreps Жыл бұрын
Yes it is. It stopped working after about two years though.

I just bought my 2012 super 8 used yesterday and will change the belt out soon. 6,000 miles show and I suspect it’s never been changed. It accelerates and is quite peppy for 150cc. Great job on the video!🎉

No need to remove the carb in many cases. ALWAYS try running some STP gas treatment or Gumout fuel injector cleaner first via a few tablespoons in the gas tank. Simple, and in many cases will clear up minor varnish buildup in the carb. Once you add some cleaner to the fuel tank, slosh it around, crack open the carb drain to get treated fuel all the way down to the float bowl, close drain, let it set for a few hours or overnight. Start it up and drive it until the tank is almost empty. If that doesn't do anything, THEN, you can go about fussing with carb removal. Check the condition of your fuel filter first though. Not sure if there is a small vent hole on the fuel cap, but if there is, and it is plugged, you will have running issues.

Hey I commented at the end of this great series of videos that we didn't get to witness the restart. Did you have to perform any sort of priming to fill the bowl or just turning it over and it started. I got mad at the bike and its been sitting for a year and that is why I'm glad you made these videos because I totally forgot and was dreading going back in once again. I agree with the others. THANKS !!!
@wkreps Жыл бұрын
You will have to really crank it for a while as the carb bowl will need to fill with has before it will start. Hold throttle at full for a while when trying to start so that it puts in extra gas to fill the carb bowl.
@JimLakin Жыл бұрын
Man great job, I think. HOWEVER... Why didn't you take the extra 5 minutes or less to put the battery in and attempt to start it !!!! I'm sitting here after watching / studying EVERY video in this series and its like a story with no ending. Very disappointing because you left everyone completely in the dark as to did it work or not. This dam bike I purchased in 2012 has had so many issues and is so temperamental with fuel, basic idling and most importantly randomly just quits on the road and won't restart. I have read all the threads, and design and engineering is just so unreliable. I bought it for my son at college and he got stranded multiple times. Here I sit going to tear it down again. The owner of the bike shop blames the fuel. Whatever. What todays fuel works with this P.O.S. scooter. Thanks All

Never thought to start it after the fact in the video because I wasn’t having any problems with the carburetor. I had just owned it for a year and decided to clean it. Never cleaned it again in the 10 years I owned it. Just drained the carb bowl for winterization. I also never put any special fuel in it. Just 87 octane from any ole gas station. Also never worried about ethanol free gas. Always had the possibility of up to 10% ethanol.

They didn’t make it easy to just replace a headlight bulb. I had an official repair manual (from cyclepedia.com) and followed step by step so I would say, yes it is necessary.

I’m not sure except that they were the original stock rollers that came with the new scooter. A dealer May be able to find that out using the parts catalog though.

This is wrong because these people are playing a Mescalero Apache song over the speaker but claiming it to be theirs. They’re not even singing it just drumming along to it. This song is from a late relative (his name was Freddie) he was from Mescalero. These people in this video clearly aren’t authentic Apache.

I wish I would have videotaped the little speech before they performed. Maybe it could have given a little more context.
@walkinbeautyfreelyindigeno6159 Жыл бұрын
They say they are Lipan Apache. As relatives, we share different songs. I don't know if it was an acceptable presentation of the song because it's normally done with crown dancers from the Mescalero Apache.

Thanks for posting this. Short but very informative. Finally someone tested and posted real results of these. Dropping the rpms at speeds seems great for reducing the potential engine wear from sustained higher rpms (even if top speed stays the same). I am doing this exact swap on my stock 2014 Super 8 150. What was the stock top speed on your 150? Mine is about 57-8 mph on the speedo and 53-54 mph on the gps. Were your speeds on this video based on gps or speedometer. Thanks!
@wkreps2 жыл бұрын
Speeds were based on the speedometer and my top speeds are the same as yours. I’m 230 lbs if that helps. Of course I can get a couple more mph if I crouch down.
