you are soooo right Birds of Prey is my favorite movie basically. And the Cartoon adaptation of Harley Quinn is a refreshing cartoon to watch as an adult, as the rest of them kind of suck and I haven't caught that anime wave yet. The movie was a disappointment. The ending super anti-climactic, and I as well was picturing a better script for the movie in my head while watching the film to keep me entertained.

Thanks for the review - seems many people agree with the conclusions drawn. Personally, I'm very pleased I did not see this before watching the film, which I enjoyed. Having not played the games, I had no preconceptions and just enjoyed the fun. Cate and Ariana are excellent, whatever the role or lines given. Probably agree that Kevin Hart was not as memorable. I guess we have such very high expectations these days, but I still enjoy a simple fun adventure

in the novel shogun toronaga is not portrayed as "good" and the author tells us in the beginning that japanese have 3 faces and 9 hearts (rodriguez says it) but in the course of the novel you just feel toronaga just wants to survive a situation that is forces upon him but you see his greed and lust (buys the "lady of the night" omi is interested in for himself) and at the end he just shows that he actually wanted the shogunate despite what he claimed multiple times to his most trusted allies and in that moment you feel the betrayal of him sacrificing mariko not to save more lives as he claimed but actually to achieve his ultimate desire which is power and for that you feel shock and anger towards him
@hoomantay7 ай бұрын
but i must add the beauty of the novel which is impossible to portray on camera ( because most of the novel is inner monologues) is that it shows us an accurate into the mind of people in general and it does it beyond the mere good and bad argument and is actually very realistic as no character in the novel is good or bad they are all gray.
@Roulette_Films7 ай бұрын
@@hoomantay interesting. Makes sense, though. I imagine that feeling of deceit is a lot stronger when you've spent so much more time with Toranaga and his internal monologues, which even in the book, from what you say, are filtered. The 3 faces 9 hearts part is interesting, wish it got a bit more time in the show. We get flavors of it with Yabushige's dialogue about Toranaga's "secret heart" in the finale, and Mariko's mentioning of the eightfold fence, but I think more emphasis on that (and seeing examples of it) could have added to the political game-iness of the story in some ways.

I think season 2's pacing was pretty bad in that all the quick parts seemed too fast and all the slow parts seemed too slow. There are entire episodes that would have been 10 minutes in an episode at Season 1's pacing (which felt perfect to me) and other episodes that felt like they should have been two episodes with more more going on.
@Roulette_Films8 ай бұрын
Honestly I can totally understand this criticism. The entire Thraxa segment particularly stands out for this problem of happening too fast, and though nothing is jumping out at me for things that dragged, I am confident I had that feeling in the first half of the season. Fair point that I wish I had been more on my mind as I was making this.

This is evil Repent of witchcraft and evil today Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus
