Absolutely beautiful. A wonderfully romantic composition, so unassumingly flowing and naturally occuring a melody as ever there was one. His torrent etude is my favorite for sheer power and vehemence, and a downright ferocious manner, it reminds me of half of Bruckner's scherzos. Great playing of a staple in the repertoire. Wunderbar.

I think this composition, which maybe is the most famous Chopin' Nocturne, is the perfect tune. I always wonder how a man had could to compose so many masterpieces like Chopin...this a mistery to me, but this is the power of the genius. Life can never be the same without his music. So, thank you so much for play so well this amazing music that never can be forgotten

How many years does it take to reach this kind of level?
@fitphileАй бұрын
That's a good question with many variables! I can only speak to my own experience... I would say it took me about 6 years of semi-serious study (middle school + high school) to get to a point to be able to learn & play this Scherzo. I'd been taking piano lessons for 7-8 years before that, but not learning in a focused way. Even when I was learning this Scherzo, I'm sure there were plenty of weeks when I was just hurriedly squeezing in practice 1x/week right before my lessons 😅

Good Morning from Poland. Country of Frederic Chopin. I would love to be a piano only to have the privilege of being seen, attracted, touched, possessed and caressed by the hands of Judy. She plays the piano with his soul, sensitivity and fragility at the same time. Seing him at here was one of a lifetime experience. Thank You, Judy...

This has been my favorite Chopin Nocturne since grade school. When I was in my early teens, I memorized the right hand melody of this great piece. I enjoyed playing it for many years because I just could not memorize all those jumping chords the left hand. I've never had piano lessons, but I learned to read notes by reading John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course Book 1. Through the years I fell in love with many other classical pieces that had beautiful melody lines and would work on them until I had them memorized; beautiful pieces such as Chopin's Preludes, 4,6,7,15,20,21 and 22; Chopin Nocturne Op. 48, No. 2 (1st mvt), and Op. 55, No. 1 (1st half); Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (1st mvt, currently working on memorizing the 2nd mvt); DeBussy's Reverie, to name a few. Last year, at the age of 67, I decided to try again on this piece, and I finally memorized it. I am so enjoying playing it now after working on it for a year. But I cannot play it without making several mistakes somewhere. I hope to play it someday as almost flawlessly as you did! Thanks for the upload! Keep up the beautiful playing.
@fitphileАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing your journey and kind comments, and congratulations on learning this piece!! The harmonic changes are indeed trickier to memorize than one would think. Your approach of memorizing the melody lines is thoughtful and inspiring. 👏👏👏 Are you working on any other pieces at the moment?

Oh I see - 2nd mvmt of Moonlight - lovely choice!
@libertypastor130710 күн бұрын
@@fitphile Yes, I am also working on the 2nd section of Chopin's Nocturne, Op 48, No 1 (Poco piu Lento). The chords seem to require more fingers than I have! But I am trying to memorize it as well. If I succeed, then the ultimate challenge will be to memorize the 3rd section where the melodic line of the beginning is repeated, but with much more complexity. It is truly mind-blowing to me! 🤯 Do you play Op 48, No 1? If so, do you play the whole thing?
@fitphile10 күн бұрын
Ah yes, that is such a beautifully tragic nocturne! The middle chorale section you're working on is quite challenging especially for voicing, even though as you mention the 3rd section is truly challenging. I haven't formally learned 48-1, but would love to one day!

Someone told me once that anytime a mistake is made in music to think about the original amount of work the composing likely took with all the subtle changes to make it just right. Think about all the mistakes they made! Making a mistake is probably the greatest compliment you could pay to the composer. It just proves how much work it took to make it just right. Keep up the good work!
