Damn ! I just changed my thermostat on my Rendezvous . Worst location I’ve ever work on. Bad engineering!!took me several hours to finally remove it.. Can’t figure it why that manifold in front of the thermostat .. Good luck DIY mechanics…

How did you KNOW the power steering pump causing issues with alternator ? What type of issues? No one can seem to figure out why my battery light will come on randomly while driving. And if I let off or give more gas well then it turns off. Doesn't trigger code that remember

I have a leak on my resovoir so I this helped with changing my resovoir already changed the rack that’s all I needed

2007 3500 is not the same at all its on the end of the head close to the fire wall

I just did the repair. Take air intake boot off. Use ratchet and extension and 13mm socket on top bolt. Put extension under coolant tube first then slip socket on. Socket won't fit under tube. Then use 13mm ratchet wrench for bottom bolt. Hold tube to keep tension on bolt so your wrench will keep ratcheting. And remove bolt. Tube. Thermostat. And reverse. Difficulty...5/10

I'm so glad I found your video before ordering my power steering pump. This is beyond my skills. I need to bite the bullet on this repair and bring it to a shop.

ratchet wrenches are to fat to fit in there to remove thermostat bolts still not to bad the issue i had fun with was removing the fuel pressure regulator itself cause it was on tight had to use 2 wrenches

F or the alternator, put a jack and board under the engine, and undo the 2 mounts on the front of the motor. Let it tilt forward a little, and it makes those 2 bolts on the back loads easier to get off.

Great video! The exact car and problem as my Buick, except for alternator. One question, @10:00 you say to "get some pliers and get it out". Are you still talking about the rubber hose that is on bottom left? Or the metal hose. I'm thinking the rubber is easy and the metal hose...not so much. Thanks again for a great video.

I removed the bottom bolt with a regular wrench from the back.

This video sucks! I have to change my return line on power steering and this is the closest video to what I need but I barely know about cars and trying to learn how to do this to save money. So thanks for moving the camera so much I can't even hardly understand it >.>

An offset wrench would be best to remove the thermostat housing bolts

I am dizzy from the camera swinging back and forth, but other than that this is a very real and honest video with genuine commentary. I think me and the guy that shot this video learned as we went. Get you a tripod or a camera person, but otherwise it was a great video.

I've been scratching my head desperately trying to figure out how the hell to get at the 17mm fitting for the low pressure line at the back bottom of the pump...i even bought a set of metric crowfoot flare nut wrenches thinking that would do the trick, unfortunately the pump pulley still gets in the way...it looks like I'll need to remove the washer fluid bucket, then I'll be able to get at the fitting with a regular flare nut wrench... thanks for the video...GM engineers suck...

Take the damn camera off your head and set it down somewhere until you learn how to use it. Your otherwise okay video is useless because there is so much camera motion.
