turbo laser turret - brilliant. would be very interested in that. I believe studio scale B-wing was 1/35 scale ??
@ethanbrackin569Ай бұрын
@@paulnyul1898 yes it was 1\32. Sorry for the typo. All the other fighters are 1\24 so after we make all the kit parts and build it in SS we will take a vote and see if folks want to keep it 1\32 or go slightly bigger to keep it in scale with all the other SS fighters.
@nigelsmith7366Ай бұрын
The biggest issue is delivery times.... As for production time surely commercial 3d resin printing is the best.... I have done a lot of traditional resin casting with both rigid and flexible moulds... There is so much down time with standard resin casting and so many variables that affect the finished product... That's before shrinking and warping issues come into play
@ethanbrackin569Ай бұрын
@@nigelsmith7366 so we have a plan for that. Part of why we are doing this now as a bundle is so that we can make some investments in better logistics. We have learned recently that we can hire a full time agent overseas to get us better vendors and keep them on deadline contracts. That would be HUGE! it's our biggest hiccup. But we need to be able to devote a sizeable investment into that upgrade so with this membership we hope to be able to do that right away which will affect all current and future productions.

@ethanbrackin569Ай бұрын
@@scograham oh interesting, that will beg a vote when we get the parts modeled then. Whether to match the scale with the other fighters in 1\24 or stick to 1\32. That's a weird scale for them to use! Funny how inconsistent the SS models are.

@ I would actually prefer 1/24 to have it in scale with the other studio scale ships. The only 1/24 garage kit of it wasn’t so accurate. It could make your version stand out if you changed it up like that. But also, the 1/32 actual studio model is kind of large already. Things to think about

@ethanbrackin5692 ай бұрын
@@guitarangel7559 you will be able to access free files for the scratch built parts of the model. those white parts in the video. The rest of the parts are found in vintage model kits. Very soon you will be able to buy digital files of each of those model kit parts so you can "scratch build" your own. Research is available on the RPF and Studio Scale groups and forums on how the ESB is built from it's original kit parts.

This comes with STL's for the handcrafted head parts that were not originally made from kit parts. So you just need the armature itself, the head pieces, and then the rest of the origianl kit parts to finish your build. You can either source the original model kits to harvest the kit parts that you'll need, or we sell the parts individually as STL's through our online store bit.ly/DigitalKitParts
