THe ONLY reason to use soap is to emulsify oils...if the filter never encountered oils/fats, then soap would just act as a contaminant. To backwash, I connect a tube from the filter outlet, direct to a garden hose...gets a good backwash!

Is it better to go with a 24 Volt system?

I used 1/8th aluminium Angle too, with Riv nuts in panelsand bolts with loctite. I used a self tapper big ones into metal roof trusses. one on each end and sealed around entire aluminium angle piece. Also used 3m 5200 before screws. I'm pretty sure you could lift the entire rv with my mounting system, lol.

Helps keep the temperature down in the less insulated area of the house and reduces the time that our ac unit is running at home in turn saving money. Great item

We have 1800 watts of solar with 2 inverters a 3000 all in one powmr and a sungold power 4000 watt low frequency inverter. We are installing a minisplit this weekend and your videos have helped us alot. Thankyou for what you are doing

wires on the roof could use more protection... good job on the outside AC install , the new direct DC heat pumps might work well for you also.

Planning to run a similar 7000 BTU Split ac unit with min. 310W and Nominal 450W power draw ratings... My Camper only has 4m2 space at the roof, so I can only utilize 800-840W of panels over there... Do you think that I can run 5-6 hours a day in mediterranian region ? Irradiation differs from 800-900 W/m2 during summer season...

We live in the north Ga mountains. We are planning to have a mini split system installed. I do wonder about how feasible a solar operated unit would be since the winters can be pretty cloudy. Would it even be worth it?

Those six batteries run your mini split all night without any problems? About how much battery is left the next morning? If say running on a hot summer night.
@LivingSmallLivingMobile12 жыл бұрын
It’s dangerous. That hot line off the battery bank needs to be fuses AT THE TERMINAL. if that were to short it a massive amount of current flowing and an almost certain fire.

Great video, this is so helpful! I came here after seeing the mini split set up. This is going to change my life. I have to start saving up for this. Your videos are good, the I information is what I need. I’d rather have the info in a succinct presentation than a sifting through a long video that some do as part of their production. Thank you for taking the time to make these

what would be the total cost of for solar system?
@Srjgal3 жыл бұрын
You are so creative! I would love to see a rain catchment system where the fresh water tank could be used and a few barrels if possible. I keep thinking someone will create solar window shades that fold & latch to the rig while traveling. Developing solar slide covers would be a great also. Overlanders developed a solar system that was double layered that operated by remote. The raised panel allowed air circulation to decrease heat build up and the panels that rolled out created shade for the sides of the rig. So many ideas.

You are one of very few people who have installed a mini split into a vehicle powered by solar on KZbin. I am very interested to do this my self, however, I am still skeptical. How has your mini split been holding up? I feel if it is better (like most people who have them say it is), why aren't more people doing this instead of using inefficient and expensive 12V systems? Thank you for your video! I would LOVE to see how the whole electrical system, including how it works with the AC, power draw, how they are integrated, etc.
