"They weren't going to make them cheap looking" sums it up perfectly. Bluebird themes music, clearwater pictures...smoke generators, pioneering camera work specifically designed for Thomas (and later tugs) that is propper Thomas.

It's kinda worked out well in that regard. The visuals Rhyderhonen is creating are beautiful, they're going to age well too, whereas the 2011 version would have dated very quickly. Also, we likely wouldn't have had half the amazing voice cast who have popped up in the past few years, so it's been worth the wait.

Someday, I'm going to read the biography of Wilbert Awdry. I'm currently reading about Walt Disney. After him I'm going to read about Milton S. Hershey, and maybe I'll read about Awdry after him. The book I chose was, "The Thomas The Tank Engine Man: The Life Of Reverend W. Awdry," and it's by Brian Sibley. My mom ordered the book on December 30th, and I can't wait to get it.
