Its just strange that Fantano can say something about how he wants him to go back to sounding like he used to and then recently saying that he shouldn't try to do that, bc it comes off as pathetic. "I want old Em" and then "Why is he trying to be his old self??" from the same person is just weird. It just feels like he doesn't want to like Eminem anymore.

It's more that he doesn't realize Slim Shady is a persona that transformed into a disorder. Fantano is an Eminem fan, try not to fall for the things his whole chat does. He sparks up controversial phrasings to heat up the audience that doesn't pay close enough attention.

Well come on guys, it makes sense. It was a gimmick, it wasn't the whole thing. When a gimmick is starting to take over your music and is recycled again and again - it hurts your other musical elements

Btw I think this isn't only about him milking it. There's good fast and bad fast. If a fast flow has a nice melody, with good rhymes, content and it is understandable, and if you can with a little practice sing along to it - so yeah why not. A good example is his fast flow towards the end of not alike - extremely fun and enthusiastic But after the praise rap god got he became so focused on fast rap and he realised a couple of bland verses and songs - kings never die, phenomenal, speedom... So people got sick of it. Take into consideration that he influenced many others to do fast rap, and most of them did it in an extremely bland way, all of the time, without melody, it started being sort of a cancer to rap

I don’t really think he’s harsh. Eminem set a precedent by dropping 3 of the best rap albums of all time in a row, slim shady, Marshall mathers and Eminem show, so everything he’s dropped from revival onwards has been absolute garbage in comparison. And revival in particular is absolute garbage for music in general, not just for Eminem, so I think strong criticism is warranted
