Excellent rendition of this beautiful kalyani raga Narayana Theerthar Tharangam by Vid. Shri Ramakrishna Murthy along with the excellent support of other vidwans - Ms. Charumathi Raghuramam on the 🎻, Sri Delhi Sriram on the Mridangam and Shri Giridhar Uduppa on the ghatam . The raga alapanam, niraval and kalpanaswaras were simply superb.

Hindustani raga Behag while borrowed into our Carnatic Music as Behag its basically used for short pieces and light songs sung at the tail end of the concerts.Of course, over the period of time it has been increasingly gaining popularity in the Cutchery circuits too.Being a ragam with vakra (zigzag) scale and having foreign notes, one can say that Behag can be more defined by its distinct phrases than by just a scale. Carnatic Behag however has been influenced by other ragas such as Khamas and has foreign phrases and notes beyond its Ma’s, according to Prince Rama Verma. "smara janaka shuba charitha... akhila lokanayaka! mamava" the Maharaja Swathi kriti is presented by Vocalist Ramakrishna Murthy very melodiously ....blissfully and fervently...with a lovely rendition of the Charanam/3 ..'paalitabhuvana samudaya paramapurusha hare! Class niraval with the last phrase of Charanam - "padmanaabha jagannuta " annexed with the Pallavi line - 'akhila lokanaayaka! maamava' is beautiful. Lovely swarakalpana too added beauty. ..Beautiful recital....

Completely agree with Sid. It appears that this is a recording done from inside the auditorium - no mixer - hence echo, screeching noise , no bass , poor high notes. Will be grateful if the Sabha can upload complete video or atleast audio directly from the mixer . This is a rendition for posterity and hence this humble request.

Yes, this is a recording done in the auditorium with a poor audio recorder. I would be very happy if the sabha uploads the concert. Indeed this is a heavenly piece.
