Hi. Did you sand all the parts including the inner frame?
@Hetzer11 жыл бұрын
Actually, there's no actual correct answer because sometimes I do each of those things. It just depends on how I feel while I'm building the kit. Sometimes it's better to do the paint work in sections, but other times, the whole body is fine if it's most all just one color. I don't use car spray paint, but I've seen lot of other ppl use it, so I guess it's okay... =)

I asked this question cuz i applied topcoat on one of my gundam by major sections(arms, body etc..) then after i assembled it again ...it becomes tight!! then its broke? is it advice to topcoat in whole body not by parts? is it advice to paint ur gundam in runners? etc.... thx Is it ok to use car spray paint ? heh THX :)
@Hetzer11 жыл бұрын
Not on this particular build, but yes, I've seen that happen on other Gunpla. It seems to happen with some lacquer-based paint sprayed on without primer. It can also happen with some enamels if thinned with turpentine (turpenoid is safer).

DOES AFTER PAINTING MAKES UR GUNDAM BRITTLE AND EASILY BROKE?? i mean when u pose ur gundam does it affects its mobility its articulation etc... nc job

Not that I know of, although I've seen people just paint the Red Astray in the Blue colors. That doesn't take care of the weaponry, but it's a start I guess.

Is there a blue frame astray 1/60?

That's on you put inside a seal glass cabinet, and whenever one of your friends goes to touch it, you bury them in the backyard

For what these Perfect Grade kits cost, they should already come pre-painted like this tbh.

that's one you put on the shelf, and whenever one of your friends come over you yell harshly at them "DON'T TOUCH IT!"

I think the scabbard can be mounted upside down with a little modification to the pegs in the holder, but I don't want to pry it apart to find out, since it might crack the paint.

Awesome Red Astray...one of the best i had seen.And really like your idea on "Dark red/ rougher cast metal texture, and light red/ lighter cast metal texture"!
@Hetzer12 жыл бұрын
The Strike is pretty similar to the Astray in time/ complexity involved. They both use the same basic internal frame with most of the changes being in the external armor. So yeah, either the Strike or Astray will provide an easier building experience than the Strike Freedom.
@StickFiguresCO12 жыл бұрын
I figured as much. I also forgot to ask about the Strike. Im a huge fan of the giant sword the PG kit brings. ^^ Thanks for your help.
@Hetzer12 жыл бұрын
This kit is definitely easier to build than the PG Strike Freedom. It doesn't suffer from the Strike Freedom's issues in the waist (the SF has a locking mechanism to keep it straight that doesn't always work so well) or from the wings having trouble staying in place (since the Astray doesn't even have wings to worry about). Those problems can be overcome on the Strike Freedom, but they don't exist at all on this kit, so there's that. Also, much less parts on this kit (no wings or Dragoons)
@StickFiguresCO12 жыл бұрын
I can't decide whether or not I want this or the PG Strike Freedom. For someone who has never built a PG Gundam kit before, which would you say is easier to build? I have built the MG Qan[T], and I do own 3 other HG Kits, so I have some experience working with Gunpla.
@Hetzer13 жыл бұрын
@spacemadness123 I personally would, but it;s up to the builder. I did the panel lining on this one with subtle tones instead of solid black.
@Hetzer13 жыл бұрын
@SmallBoyzzz If you do all the painting steps I did, it might. Some people may be faster, but considering how this was not only a paint job, but also a texturing and decal job, it took me personally 190 hours. Your mileage may vary.
@PwnageJ13 жыл бұрын
a MG gundam takes me half a day to finish. does it really take 190hrs for PG?

Nice review, clear crisp and to the point. Good choice of Music too.
@Hetzer13 жыл бұрын
@Nazoo1901 Technically, yes. The Astray first appears in SEED as the MS used by Orb military forces. This particular Astray, piloted by Lowe Guele, with added weaponry/ equipment appears in Gundam SEED Astray-- a side story manga (with an accompanying animated short).

@ChefMK Hmm, since it's been a while since I built this, I don't remember many leftover parts except for the two folding knives... Srry, I don't have anything on building the optional units...
@ChefMK13 жыл бұрын
Hi, I just recently finished building my PG Red Frame. I noticed in the books there are images of optional units with left over parts. I was wondering would you have a guide on how to build the optional units or what you did with the left over parts. Thanks in advance

@shakyhealer Since the torso is Gun Metal, it actually *is* metallic, just an understated type of metallic. Otherwise I think the effect would have been too much-- having different finishes is more pleasing to the eye than just "everything's shiny". Unless you mean the torso shouldn't have been metallic at all-- which in that case I think it would be too much of a stylistic separation from the rest.

@Hetzer hahaha, almost all of us gunpla modelers are lousy i guess, if not most of us, hehehe thanks and looking forward to that :D
@Hetzer13 жыл бұрын
@inlazoname The next time I build something with this kind of paint scheme, I'll try to remember to get some in-progress shots for a kind of tutorial. I'm always lousy at things like that because I get wrapped up in the building/ painting and don't think of anything else. lol Thanks!
@inlazoname13 жыл бұрын
do you mind giving us a tutorial on how to do it? even just the red parts? :D this kit is a certified badass, thanks to the modeler who built it of course :D
