Fun fact: Orcas are most definitely NOT monogamous. In fact, it could be argued that male orcas are the ultimate deadbeat dads of the animal kingdom. They live with their mothers their whole lives, and only ever venture out briefly to mate, after which they go back to Mom without bothering to leave a forwarding address for their now-pregnant one-night stand. (To be fair, female orcas also live with their mothers their whole lives, but they are nature’s ultimate family caretakers.) Also, there’s no record of anyone having been killed by an orca in the wild. Despite everything we see and hear, they are surprisingly docile creatures.

Saw this movie in Brazil when it came out and man did it make an impression on 8 year old me. Didn't go see Jaws so I guess Orca was my "jaws" back then. I remember my mom would tell her sisters how scared I was when I came back from the theater, and that perhaps it wouldn't be such a good idea to let kids go watch movies that were not Disney like.
