In the 1980s I knew a young girl in a preschool who had had half of her brain removed due to severe epilepsy. One of their activities was passing a shoelace through multiple large wooden beads. She could not pass the shoelace past the midline and would stare at the children who could with a questioning look. It was stunning to see.

there is a major flaw in the video...only the axons from the nasal hemiretinas cross over, not the entire nerve. the optic nerve contains fibers from only one eye, while the optic tract contains fibers from both eyes (axons from the temporal hemiretina of the eye on the same side and axons from the nasal hemiretina from the opposite eye).

Here the problem is when you pull the syringe beforhanded, the risk of inflating air into vessel by accident is significantly higher and can cause embolism, so we prefer this method
