Great tutorial, Can I ask how much time do you leave between layers … I have recently bought a mould so will be making a few copies in the new year. Thanks
@britcharming5 күн бұрын
For a none detailed layup, you can just do all the layers at once. For the super detail like the Tucano. I did the 3/4 oz cloth over the detail and let cure over night or until stiff. Reason for this is the second layer was moving the detail cloth and ruining the part. Hope this helps.

Wonderful series of videos building the cowl, thanks for making them! So, the very front of the cowl is essentially micro balloons? I am sure your cowl weighs a little more, but should be more robust.

@atadhitamilanyt411724 күн бұрын
and what is the white glue u r using ?
@britcharming24 күн бұрын
Not glue it is a mix of resin and microspheres to thicken the resin for both details coverage and or gluing the parts together
@atadhitamilanyt411724 күн бұрын
sir can we use mold release waxinstead of pva release agent?
@britcharming24 күн бұрын
Yes you can. However with just wax then the plug that you will be using for the mold must be near perfect and shiny or the part can grab and be ruined
@ArnoldClaycomb27 күн бұрын
What do you do to make sure the gel coat doesn't have air bubbles after applying to plug?
@britcharming26 күн бұрын
You can use a heat gun but in most cases a good brushing does not have air bubbles

Great videos, do you use the same weight cloth on the inside?
@britcharmingАй бұрын
for the wings I used 3 oz cloth inside and outside for each wing skin.

This is absolutely incredible information. I am in the process of building a composite wing for an RC plane.

Great video, how long has your copper sink, that you use on a daily, stay shinny?
@britcharmingАй бұрын
Still perfect like the day I did it.

I also wanted to ask since it got really shiny, did it start out as an antique copper? That's what mine is and I want it to be shiny like yours.
@britcharming21 күн бұрын
Yes it was a dark ugly copper. I buffed it to a nice shine then coated with the epoxy.

Nice ! Just need to decide to use the spare jet fans or rebuild the broken ones?
@woutershorts2 ай бұрын
Quick question: do you let it completely harden between every layer of cloth you put on or are you waiting till the resin is tacky and then continue with the next layer?
@britcharming2 ай бұрын
I only wait for the tool coat to be partially tacky. Once I get the first layer on over the tool coat you just keep going until done. No waiting at all
@woutershorts2 ай бұрын
@@britcharming Thank you; that is awesome. I learned a lot from your videos, even if it fails 🙂 For other videos you will make, it would be helpful to show the materials and tools you will use. Especially if there is a brand preference based on bad or great experience. Just my two cents on trying to understand the details.

tools and materials are usually in the description with links.. thanks for watching T33 coming soon

Do you have to worry about an amine blush when laminating? I have non-blushing hardener but would rather use the standard hardener. Great series with multiple applications! I'm actually making a mold for a Greenland kayak paddle.

@richardobrien61882 ай бұрын
@@britcharming I couldn't find any aluminum except for abrasive aluminum oxide. I'm pretty sure we don't want that! But I did find powdered stainless steel, so went for that. You can't believe how helpful your channel has been. Thanks for the efforts!!

When you’re all done with the build and uploads, upload a video of the entire build highly condensed and summarized. I’d say 20-40 minutes that allows viewers to stay interested. Custom car shows never show grease and stripped bolts, rather each finished step. Those that get interested in trying to make a 40 minute plane might watch the 40 hours to do it lol
@britcharming3 ай бұрын
Good Idea I was actually thinking of that. thanks

Hello, may I know what sort resin and what is the mix of microbaloon with ?
@britcharming3 ай бұрын
epoxy resin from aero marine in California. Ballons are about 30% depends on what thickness you desire
