I got this to work by changing "MARK" to "Mark" in the code block. However it only works in 2025, not 2024. Also doors in rooms with only 1 door, get an -A at the end of the mark. We only want letters added to rooms with multiple doors. Does anyone have a tip on how to do that? Thanks

You all provide a balanced and real vision, view and passion. The design/engr/construct process is complex, so the simplification based on solid understanding of the actual work to make and construct is vital. But, fundamental knowledge is extremely important. The tools we have a developed from the FabreCastell technical pen, with the capability enhanced by technology. Thanks and have a great Christmas.

I've been updating my plugins & working with the 2026 pre-release for the last 6 months, and all I can say (NDA) is that next year will be a very interesting year for Revit users. Very much looking forward to April !

As someone on the same NDA I know what you mean, I think. If it is what I think it is, it relates to performance (as much as I can say too) and looks promising.

Can you set the interior vs exterior opening dimensions? Interior sill vs exterior etc?
@bimpure18 күн бұрын
Yes it is possible to modify the interior vs exterior sill separately, by either modifying the dimensions or changing the nested family. The interior and exterior openings have the same dimension.

This is exactly the Dynamo script I was looking for. However, in Revit 2025, the output does not show as 'Run complete with warnings,' which is quite frustrating. What could be the cause?

@@bimpure Thank you for your response. As you suggested, I tried several approaches, but the generated elements are forming far away from the selected wall and at an enlarged scale. I thought the issue might be due to the difference between your unit system (inches) and mine (millimeters), so I unified the units, but it didn’t solve the problem. Could you help me with this issue? This Dynamo script is essential for me, and I’ve been trying to resolve it on my own, but I haven’t succeeded. I’d greatly appreciate it if you could provide additional assistance.

For example, if I received a revit model from another company, how can I determine if what was changed is the Survey Point and not the Project Base Point?

Recently I created a dynamo script to creat automatic workset base on project requirements then auto assign specific elements to the work set base on Thier name and type now to improve further I am assign element base on material to a specific workset.
@bimpureАй бұрын
Yep, Dynamo can work for that! In the case of Guardian, it does it "proactively," which means you don't have to run the tool every time.

Nic, one question that I am wondering. I am going to say something and you tell me if my assumption is true or not. Lets say I upload a family from Revit 2023. Content Catalogue will auto create versions for 2024 and 2025 (at the time of this comment). So lets say that I need to make a edit to the family for some reason. The process would be to open it in 2023 gain, make my changes, and then reupload it to Content Catalogue, correct? If so, does it overwrite the previous version and then recreate the later versions then? Or is there some other method to update a family when using CC?
@ahmedalkhoudiri5435Ай бұрын
Still no backwards file compatibility limiting the collaboration capabilities!!! In a project I made using RVT 2024, the local municipality requested a file to be in the RVT 2023 version, we had to redo everything again. AutoCAD is still more efficient for architecture design studio unless Revit is becoming backwards compatible in opening newer files in older versions.

Is there a way to do this without using a Masking Region, and using only Symbolic Lines for the rotating door panel? If not, how to I get the Masking Region to not show up on my RCP? Using Revit 2022.
@bimpureАй бұрын
Try deactivting the door panel and symbol swing subcategories in the V/G menu in the ceiling plan
@schussbunnyАй бұрын
@@bimpure I have already hidden those subcategories, so the line work doesn't show up, but the masking region is still there. If I deactivate the door family at the top of the tree the masking region disappears along with the entire door, however if I hide each individual sub-category in the door, the masking region remains.

@@schussbunny This is the video you are looking for: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eILVq6Gir95sh5I
@schussbunnyАй бұрын
@@bimpure I have reviewed that video prior, but that still does not resolve my issue, as the problem is visibility on the RCP. In wet areas we show moisture resistant ceilings as a solid grey hatch. As the door family is cut in RCP view the mask region is very visible. When deactivating plan swing category, the line work hides (which is great), but the white masking region still shows. I don't understand what I am missing 😞
@bimpureАй бұрын
@@schussbunny Well yeah, you could get rid of the masking regions and use symbolic lines instead. However, in plan views, you might see things underneath the door panel that aren't hidden by the masking region anymore

I define this as Hypermodeling. Its fun doing this but there isn’t an architect or engineer that would ever go to this level for a wood framed structure.
@bimpureАй бұрын
In most cases, yes, this would be too detailed for most architecture models. But this can definitely have it's purpose on some projects. Especially having the headers automatically added. Also, some architects/designers work in design-build and want to have preconstruction data.
@hu5tle-Ай бұрын
As a design / build. I absolutely will use this. As we become more focused on better system integration, more and more Architects will want this level of detail to help guide design decisions, trade-offs, etc.

what about wall joins? non rectangular walls (with edited profile)? non rectangular openings? actual projects are not made from standalone walls. I don't wanna be rude, but beyond "showing off" (what is our industry is mostly about these days) this doesn't really add much value. Thanks for the effort, and providing it for free, though. PS ok, so there is a proposed next phase, (should have watched the whole before commenting,) but still, most of my concerns is still valid, looking forward for the addin ;)
@bimpureАй бұрын
As mentioned during the session, users looking for full wood framing Revit applications should check out AGACAD or MWF. The panelized workflow is more of a "proof of concept", where we wanted to showcase what's possible with Revit nested families and Dynamo. With that said, the "simplified" opening framing is quite complete and could be used as is by architects and designers to frame their openings. Indeed, the next steps are going to be covered by the add-in, but we thought that this was advanced enough that users might find it helpful. Since it's all open-source with Dynamo and Python, users can easily adapt it to their needs.

Problem is that Clockwork is an outdated garbage. This is not gonna work by default in latest Revit/Dynamo Versions. It works only if user installes IronPython 2.7 to Dynamo, which is lame, because every user of your script then has to pre-install IronPython 2.7 to be able to run it. In latest Dynamo, which by default has only Cpython3 GetFromRoom and GetToRoom will give you a "Null". You gotta use .ToRoom and .FromRoom instead in your python code

I have a comment on open source. Traditional open source is driven by crowd of developers with free time. The proper name is crowdsourced. Its not about profit its about building together. I dont see crowdsourced as anti-capital, the garatee on crowdsourced is that because the code is open you get many eyes on the software posibilities for spyware like autodesk puts on all their stuff. Crowdsourced removes the burden of cost of failure and it helps people develop skills and find work by giving them expirience. Any conpany can fail or be adquired, like autodesk keep demostrating always gobling up the competition. Money does not garatee anything long term its the will of the developers. The more developers and the more people find something usefull easy to learn, The greater the likelihood for it to continue money or no money.
