Using Structural Framing in lieu of Slab Edges kind of defeats the purpose. A thickened perimeter edge is still a FLOOR, not a beam. In use there's really no savings I can see. To create the slab edge "beam" family you STILL need to define a profile AND have to tie all of the same parameters together, so you aren't saving any content creation time. Same rules apply for materials - a slab edge family needs its material to match the floor to make it continuous. The difference is the lineweight will be Thin in a slab edge because they are of the same category (Floors). And if I need to export just concrete slabs (something I would do in construction modeling all the time) it's an extra confusing step as you need some special "That's not really a beam" type filter.

This video is crucial to working with families! Thank you, Nick! The first time I watched the video it wasn't very clear, because I used "Tab" when aligning and picked a Weak Reference line so it behaved as Strong Reference (stretched). Now few months passed and I've just got a difference between RP, it's the order of references without using "Tab".🤯

I can't emphasize enough how useful the Match Paint tool has been to me. One of the best one in Pyrevit. Basically, you pick whatever surface paint as a source, and then start applying it to other surfaces without using Paint tool.

Amazing plugin but they haven't been able to release the new version for Revit 2025. That makes it a great plugin for your own productivity, but not something that a company can rely on it.

The pyrevit tools i like to use the most are; 1- copy state / paste state - I use it for transfering 3d section box states between the different files. Yes... It magicly works between files. For example, you select a beam on structural file, go to 3d view with section box. "Copy state" and choose "3D Section box state" (or any other useful view specific state there). Go to architectural file (which doesn't need to be open in the same revit!). "Paste State" and choose again 3D Section Box state again and bam you have the same view on a different file. 2- "Orient section box to face" orients section box of the current 3d view perfectly to the face of the "aligned" element picked. Only drawback is, it doesnt work on linked elements. 3- "Orient view to face" orients the current 3d view to perpendicular to the face of the aligned element.

"Renumber" was also my favorite until i found out automation on renumbering on DiRootsOne is much more practical. (With DiRootsOne you can just rename all the rooms, for example, in almost just one click.)
