How did you get a tapered fork in a rockhopper ?
@NatureDCycling
@NatureDCycling 5 күн бұрын
@jonathanthornton3894 very easy because company's make ec or ex44 bottom cups that turns 1 18 into 1.5 that takes tapered forks. EC or EX means external cup. You put ZS44 at the top ZS means zero Stack. So aslong ya rockhopper is 44mm circumference then ZS44 top and EC44 bottom will get you tapered. However please 🙏 go be the maximum fork that designed for your bike to avoid risk of danger or anything around those lines

If this is an A-Road, he's allowed to be on it. Is it safe? probably not, but this is a risk they take. If however a correctly formatted sign dictates no cyclists, then he shouldn't be there. Ebikes are slowly but surely highlighting how terrible UK Government is when it comes to effective regulation, or for that matter, any decent laws that keep "ordinary" cyclists safe. Another issue is how so many riders choose not to wear a proper helmet - and i mean a full face one, downhill helmet. Anything less than this on these (often illegal/higher speed) ebikes is going to result in serious injury or worse. A farty little bicycle helmet is going to be useless on one of these. The average speed these ebikes can do is often 20mph+, with top speeds often exceeding 30, this is moped range of speeds and so often none of the riders on them wear the proper rated helmets. Disaster waiting to happen. In all fairness though, legally they shouldn't be going anywhere near these speeds to begin with, their output should be 250w with a limit of 15mph, often though this is not the case as riders are buying kits online that are 1000watts + (sometimes 3000w or more) and putting them on paperclips for frames and hoping it doesn't kill them. this sort of power, on (often) an aluminium frame - not designed for this kind of speed, or for a motor in its rear dropouts - is a disaster waiting to happen as when Aluminium frames fail, they snap with no warning. If that happens while doing 30mph? god help you.

@NotANickname409
@NotANickname409 10 күн бұрын
@@user-jm7kc4bm8m very doubtful the ebike in the video is 50kg. 50kg for an ebike is actually very rare and probably only reserved for the Cargo/thick tyre ebike brands. Ebikes like this one in the video probably dont weigh more then around 30-40kg absolute tops. Either way though you're right, an Ebike is still vastly safer and cleaner way to travel. If the government actually properly regulated these things (and not with the EAPC classifications that simply dont work) it would be of benefit for everyone. We might even see people be able to get insured on them properly in case of accidents. In the meantime it's just a wild west of legal/illegal style ones and it's a mess. All courtesy of our incapable and useless government. On topic though; this rider should not be on this road if it's classed as a MOTORWAY. If its a dual-cairrageway/A-road, he's allowed to be on it - safe to be on it? well thats up for debate and a risk they take. A bigger concern is the fact that he (And so many riders) choose not to wear helmets when their average speed on these things is easily 15-20mph +, top speeds being around 30. A great way to become a vegetable if things go wrong. An ordinary bicycle helmet also wont cut it at these higher-than-average bicycle speeds. Fullface downhill style is preferable or dont bother.

It is legal to cycle on A roads even if they are dual or more carriageways unless it is visibly forbidden, ie there are signs saying you shouldn't. Given the potholed quality of most local roads these days I'd say it is actually quicker and safer. Cyclists should simply learn to take the lane. Just because the speeds are fast doesn't mean drivers shouldn't be able to see what is in front of them. If a driver can see a motorbike why can't they see a bicycle.

On my country is legal to go on the majority of dual carriageways, if is not explicitly forbidden you can go in with a bicycle. And I see that in UK is also the case. "Cyclists have the legal right to use dual carriageways in the UK, except where signage indicates otherwise, such as in some high-speed areas or tunnels where bicycle bans are clearly marked. There are no overarching laws prohibiting cyclists from dual carriageways, but local restrictions may apply."

The rockhopper uses the same frame from the lowest end to the highest end of the rockhopper. The difference is the components your paying for. So if you want something to get you about then the rockhopper sport is the better version to go for. It's only slighter better than the normal rockhopper. However if you plan to upgrade the bike there only one main issue. That first issue is getting a backwheel at 135mm quick release that you can put 6 bolt rotor with a 12 speed cassette on it. The reason why I mentioned this If you willing to upgrade down the line you may end up buying a next bike after the rockhopper. The specialized fuse or chisel is a better option as they have tapered headset and 148mm rear wheel that will take any wheel on the market. Just wanted to point 👉 that out there. And try not to keep ya bike locked outside and bring it indoors. Because getting components for a rockhopper especially the backwheel not easy and it will get pricey for a custom wheelbuild or a specific high end components to make that happen

The upper bar angles down about 6" before it meets the seat post tube. None of the other RH frames have that feature far as I could tell. Also my downtube seems to be extra thicker than on other RHs. that's a shame, contact hope via email and see what they say, send them pictures, I've been using hope stuff for 30 years plus, never had an issue, did you use a torque wrench to tighten it up?

@user-tb7rb6lt3d no I did not have a torque wrench however I do not over tighten things I only stop when I feel when the bolt comes to a stop and add a little but and stop that how I always tightened all my bolts 🔩 well I am riding though all weather conditions like hot cold rain 🌧 etc and what not I have a new stem coming tomorrow I'm gonna go bike shop and see what they can do

Your poor friends who have had the mistake of having kids, at least you're free and can do what ever you want, freedom is a gift.

I prefer the 300 lumen model with clear-cut modes, despite the hassle of its "old fashioned" USB port size. As a car driver and a cyclist, the more powerful the rear light, the more likelihood of potentially dazzling drivers sitting behind - something that has happened to me at dusk with two riders with these ultra-bright lights on full blast. Additionally, it has been reported that people with epilepsy have been triggered by the disruptive and rapid flashing. I still put Lezyne's well thought out and superbly engineered light designs well ahead of any others out there.

I do understand as I am a car driver and cyclists myself. However there many times a driver says he can't see me because my lights are to weak that the reason I invested with the strongest light they had on the market to say can you see me now. That how this got me investing 💰 in the most powerful

I like your video but Comicon at the Excel looks Shite. When I use to go there in 2015 to 2019 it was better then. Too spread out not enough trade stands, it was rammed we couldn't get passed each other sometimes. There was great film stars there for autographs, props from movies Tv series shows like Falling skies Etc Cos players were better.. Its not your video its great but I wouldn't waste my money on that crap..
