one of the most upsetting bands. They've got insane jams, and great composition, but i just cant bare that lead singer.

Yes, everything is always connected. Tout finit par se retrouver. Tomber par hasard sur une chanson qui marque puis regarder une série et découvrir que la chanteuse du groupe est la même que celle de la chanson marquante. I love that :)

This was such a good show. Pretty sure it was with Blonde Redhead and was the era when Jay Hough booked many of the shows.

Pretty sure it's about the insights gained during dope withdrawal. I was kicking a long habit and it became pretty obvious to me that's what they're talking about. On Royal Trux I there's the song "Bits-N-Spurs". In that Neil sings: "Despite the fact that Mandrax the Magician performed his tricks so well for me tonight. I still managed to catch a glimpse of Gene, projecting his SPECTRE on some old Puerto Rican man." Mandrax was a type of barbituate and "performed his tricks so well" is alluding to relief from withdrawal. When you're coming off of dope it's similar to and acid trip but painful. You do hallucinate, gain insights and gain perspective on things. Here he is singing about the "Specter" "...haunt[ing] the lenses of [his] eyes and the chemicals in [his] brain. Withdrawal can be a "haunting" experience. And lastly, "the spectre is it's own reward" pretty much speaks for it's self.

I think this video is a perfect example of the early Japanese "punk rock" of the eighties and nineties. I have heard in so many anime tracks of this kind of rhythm and blues style, that I often ask myself, "where and why did they pick up this music?" Watching such a charming video like this, I begin to liken it to, say, Edo, and other types of traditional Asian music, and I begin to see the comparisons and contrasts of the various music forms.

I am busting!! That is so funny and an awesome, impromptu rendition of a lot of Bob’s post 2005ish work. However, GBV is still the head of the class and heavy weight champs of indie!!
