Too bad Jotul discontinued this stove. I guess the new EPA regs ruined that!

I'm looking to heat 1200sqft and vent through a fireplace. Would this stove do the trick? What sort of burn times would we be looking at?

Great video! I have a question. Which collar did you use for the rear of your stove. I have an F3CB ready to install but I don’t have the collar.
@custommade44632 жыл бұрын
My Jotul bought in 98 is this model. I had it installed to where I’m living now as close to wall as safety guidelines allowed. The pipe goes straight out the back and joins a metal chimney. I rarely use this stove not because I don’t want to but it burns so fast! I would have to add wood way too frequently. Yes I shut damper down, air flow opening too. But never see a noticeable difference in slowing flames down. Plus the grate to protect wood from rolling out always dislodges so easily. Am I the only one with these problems with this Jotul 3cb?
@TheAquaticRoom Жыл бұрын
I have the jotul 8 ap .it was put in in 95 I can put 2 pieces of wood and it last at least 1hr 1/2 and stays above 300 f° That's with the bypass damper closed

12:45 Buffalo Beetle most likely... Very good for clean-up crew, but having them mixed with mealworms would kinda suck because it'd be pretty hard to tell the difference in worms until pupation!

Like chatting to you nicest neighbour. Been burning an F3 here in Scotland for 10 years, and he's right. Never mind the Jotul instructions. Do what works for you, and yes, my door glass gets dirty too...and there's often a wee bit of ash sitting in front. 😊

It is cruel and ignorant to place two separate species together. Not only will they be fighting for territory but they can get each other very sick. You are placing animals in a death camp bro be smarter than that. Your making little kid decisions.

I know this was a few years ago but was it ok? The baby I took in today is always barely moving like the one in this video and sleeps all the time plus it twitches and jumps a lot
@grantodamax7 ай бұрын
@@TaintedMidnite He was absolutely fine. We made a baby formula for him and we took him to a wild life rehab and the woman almost didn't take him because we fed him the formula we made but once she saw how healthy he was she couldn't say no. His eyes opened the next day and I got a call a few days later about his state he was so active, hyped and healthy she had to separate him from the other squirrels. Released into the wild without any issues.

That's great to hear. Our little buddy is doing much better today. He is active and more responsive. Plus his skin doesn't tent anymore. I have been giving him a mixture of 1 part ensure and 2 parts pedialyte. His proper formula will be coming from Amazon today along with better ni pples for the syringe. Unfortunately there is no one around me that will take him. The only place that would is too full and said as long as I am taking proper care of him that he should just stay with me. I will keep him long enough until he survives but it's reassuring to hear that his behavior is normal so thank you 😊

That anole is not happy, getting defensive of his territory, That's probably not a good idea to house those two species together, Especially since the male anole is displaying his territorial push ups and dewlap

Frass has the same consistency as sand (it's Mealworm poop)
@jimmyrichardson22355 жыл бұрын
You will be better off separating your mealworms, pupea, and your darkling beetles all in different tubs. You will produce a lot more. Cos your beetles will be eating your pupea and your worms.

If I can give you one piece of advice, leave an inch or two of Ash in the grate and it will protect the cast iron from the intense heat. Then you will never have to replace it. It will also allow your fire to burn longer. Stay warm 👍
