Never let them weld your piles if you are paying for galvanized piles.
@belombre47FR Жыл бұрын
They aren't galvanised, and these are pros... Thanks for watching 😊😊😊😊
@SteveRoberts1 Жыл бұрын
Ok, forgive me if I missed this bit. Are the piles treated in any way? Untreated steal will not last 15 let alone 50 years.
@crosisofborg5524 Жыл бұрын
Helical piles are galvanized. They will last from 50 to 100 years.
@SteveRoberts1 Жыл бұрын
@Crosis of Borg ok, I thought someone said they were not galvanised that's why I asked.
@belombre47FR Жыл бұрын
They are also very thick, which gives them some serious longevity 👍👍
@crosisofborg5524 Жыл бұрын
The problem I see is they are welding extensions on and the weld burns off the zinc used in galvanization. They will rust at the joints.
@elfillari Жыл бұрын
So you think non galvanized, appr. 1/2" wall piles will corrose thru in a fiew years period of time? I've bridged my block Wooden cottage with 4*4inch hollow metal barrel tube with 3/8" wall, under the corners, now standed on solidly 12 years. The corrosion eated the tube walls maybe 0.01" thin layer. Calculate the time to be rusted thru till?😂

Thanks for watching George! We had to spend a chunk of our budget to get a plot reiverside, and it seems we were very lucky as they are relatively unwilling to grant planning permission on the remaining unbuilt plots with direct river access 🍀🍀🍀

@belombre47FR Жыл бұрын
Hey Matt & Kat. Thanks for watching! The mounting battens for the cladding are 45mm, and it is all vented, so it's not technically a rain screen that we installed. Hope that answers your question! 😁👍

Hi, if we raise square frames 5 by 3 meters with thickness and width of boards 5 by 30 cm, (for building a cube cabin), would the lap joints of the frames be stronger with bolts or screws? And would there be necesary for extra corner strengthening triangular bars ? ( the cabin is planed to be made with 10 such frames with a distance of 70 cm in between, conected with 70 cm pieces of the same board)
@belombre47FR2 жыл бұрын
Hi Triumf Dula & thanks for watching. We are very flattered that you feel we can respond to your query, but we are not professionals, and the details of our build were all down to a very professional team which included an architect and an engineer. We simply sent images of the design we wanted, and dimensions, and the team took it all from there. We would be more than happy to put you in touch with our supplier if you are looking for a source for your project; simple email us at [email protected] Best of luck with your project... 👍😊
