My Premium RG1221 compared to my Prestiges looks like it was made by a child. Probably was, with todays business ethics. It has horrible finish quality. Japanese from here forth.

Very close. To be fair, no two Princetons (tube version) probably sound exactly the same due to tolerance drift, etc.

Very innovative but too fast if you slow down better I would subscribe if you had lessons but do it slowly with tabs

They both sound great! The 'real' one is getting up there in price. A used TM Princeton would be a good value i think. Probably be a while until used ones are around. I like the extra features. The weight is not a big deal as the tube Princeton isn't all that heavy anyway. Low maintenance cost on the Tone Master is a good feature as well. There's a big enough difference in price to make a solid decision. Fun demo.

Your creativity and skill will determine an audience enthusiasm and applause. I doubt if more than 5% of them can hear the difference between a Tone Master and Tube amp. Whether playing or in the audience for over 50yrs, never once did I hear someone say,"I really like the sound of that amp!" This is strictly a musicians opinion and ear sensitivity.

Had been shopping a while for a smaller guitar that had decent electronics, wanted something more comfortable than my 23 year old Taylor 414ce. I tried a bunch of GS minis and could not justify the money because I was not happy with the sound. Ended up with the Alvarez Masterworks MF66 in OM size with the LR Baggs system. I prefer it over everything else I own. Do yourself a favor and check them out. I am 60 now and have about 15 guitars so my ears are trained pretty well when comparing them.

It’s the natural crunch and chime of real tubes. Maybe with the tone master pedal you can add chime in

If the differences were not so obvious, I would say play these damn things and stop speaking every 5 seconds. But even here, I don't get the hype for these TM. Do people hear something? WTF??

The Taylor sounds like crud .. I walked into a shop ...I played a Martin Jr . , a Baby Taylor, and a Luna .. I walked out with the little Luna ...because it had a solid spruce top and sounded like a bigger guitar.. The Martin jr sounded like crap ..plywood top . In fact all plywood The Taylor not only sounded like a trash can lid because it had a plywood top , back , and sides..but its fingerboard was so tight you couldn't play a A chord... and definitely not a B7.. price was almost as redundant as the Taylor.. These 2 companies were selling their name ... I'm not paying 6 and 700 for anything that sounded that bad .. The Luna ,not only had that solid spruce top that sounded great , it fingered great , Had a Fishman pickup in it , and was only $179.. Think I'm making it up... walk into a big store and listen to them side by side .. I took the Taylor and the Luna both into the sound room , side by side .. ( The Taylor I couldn't wait to put it down fast enough).

I learned the pentatonic shapes any advice what to learn next?
@DavidsGuitarLoftStLouis
@DavidsGuitarLoftStLouis 29 күн бұрын
You can start incorporating other "flavor tones" within the pentatonic shapes like the flat fifth, or one of my favorites is to slide the flat 3rd up a half step to make it a major third! Some people call that a dominant pentatonic scale. Incorporating both will give you a more bluesy vibe. I will definitely make a video on all this soon! flat 5 shape would be ---------------------------------------5-8----- ----------------------------------5-8------------ --------------------------5-7-8------------ --------------------5-7-------------------- ----------5-6-7--------------------------- --5---8------------------------------------- Major third shape/ Dominant Pentatonic --------------------------------------------5-8/9----- -------------------------------------5-8------------ --------------------------5/6-7---------------- --------------------5-7-------------------------- ------------5--7-------------------------------- --5--8/9--------------------------------------

The Alvarez is mahogany, the Taylor is Rosewood. At that price point Rosewood will always beat mahogany.

Ummm… sometimes, but… unless I’m missing something, these guitars are not solid wood back and sides. It’s like comparing the total qualities of screen printing. You could line up a Koa, mahogany, rosewood, and maple layered/laminate guitar by the same builder and you would never hear the difference if the top, bridge, body shapes, etc were the same.
@MarkRobinsonMusic
@MarkRobinsonMusic Ай бұрын
You're correct. I have 2 GS minis (original mini-e Koa, and mini-e Rosewood), and every single one I've ever played uses Sapele as its tonewood (the inside part of the back laminate that reflects/projects the soundwaves). I wrote to Taylor and they confirmed that the back veneer is FOR DECORATION ONLY. A different solid top - mahogany, koa - will compress the tone and despite the laminate back, will make the guitar sound warmer. Tone is highly subjective, too!

It would be interesting to have a blind performance so the player can't see which is which. Also, critics dislike the Jensen speaker and prefer the Celestial in the Deluxe Tone Master.
