He quotes someone saying people can have the same experience but formulate different about it. Can there be several truths? Aren't those lies? Or misinterpretations of the same truth (as one picks up on what resonates with them and exclude what seems to make them uncomfortable or mirror their weaknesses). I found this speech confusing and deceiving. Is it really so, people formulating so differently about the same experience to the extent that their formulations make the experience unrecognisable? If they have the same experience than they should be able to either agree on their formulations or find their formulations should be complementary to one another (according to their own measure of sharing the same truth). If they argue about it, then the very initial concept from which they had begun their experiences must have been different. Therefore Mitropolitan Anthony Bloom either forgets or intentionally omits the fact that between the various christian denominations and confessions there are dogmatic differences (logical philosophical deductions about God's Truth) between these faiths, that sepparates their experiences. If one starts from a different belief than another (from a different understanding of the world around them, or even more so about God), they will both have different experiences, thus the formulations will be different. On a diferent note: if a team invented football calling themselves the Football Team, but one player eventually decides he doesn't agree with some of the rules and splits, forming his own version of football by amending the rules he didn't agree with, does it mean he retained the original understanding of the game? Not so much. Now let's imagine that from this later team, more and more players split going on to form other teams. We end up with 100 teams and variations of football, but they have all stepped away from the initial rules that shaped the whole purpose of the game in the first place, don't we? It is what history teaches us about the divided Christianity nowadays. Great Schism, Marthin Luther etc. etc. I think with love towards all people and with great fear (in regards to myself before everyone else) that if only those who follow God's unaltered Truth will find redemption, which sounds fair to me - why should anyone lie about Him or who He is? - then we are in very big trouble. However it so seems to me, that if someone stepped away from the "initial rules of the game", than they should not expect to unite with the "original team" outside of their gesture of returning to the original rules, as they will never be regarded as genuine, but as forgerers seeking for their altered postulates to be endorsed (or otherwise they would have no problem giving up to them). This is a disappointing speech... to me.

We were received into the Church in Oct 22. I'll never forget the first time seeing my 2 sons (7&9 at the time) walking up the first time, to partake in the Holy mysteries. My eyes water every Sunday during this hymn.

I pray I love and give mercy to the poor my whole life, but my big problem is my laziness and perhaps despondency. I go to work and volunteer, but otherwise lately, I lay in bed all day because of the meager struggles of my life lately. Lord Jesus Christ, please help me get out of the bed of the flesh and live fully for you in the care of our Father's beloved creation.
