Beautiful @Manchild..wisedumb101 - the humor in seeing oneself as foolfilled reflects a light hearted connection with the puer aeternus the eternal child archetype that resists the responsibilities of adulthood. While this can bring joy and spontaneity true fulfillment requires embracing not only the youthful spirit but also the maturity of the senex-the wise elder. Life may be challenging but it’s in balancing these forces and through gratitude for even the simplest moments that we find our path to individuation and wholeness.

2:29 you cant connect bacchus to the eternal boy, boys dont partake in the usual perversions of men, well not in any sane world. Men serve all manner of gods by maturing, you gotta have the hot girlfriends, but you will need the sport car, mansion, flashy clothes, and everything that goes with it, those are now your gods, you wake up in the dark to chase the fortune for the goddess and get home in the dark, kids raised by strangers or sacrificed by in the womb.

Only 1min 34secs in to this video and already I'm confused. Why do people simply accept this guys ideas? He doesn't bother to PROVE anything. He describes his dreams, but we have no idea how accurate those descriptions are or that they happened at all. The very first quote mentioned is not fact.

No need to worry @samaziz-w5m! This video stays true to Carl Jung's original work and intentions. Jung’s exploration of the shadow isn’t about negativity-it’s about understanding and integrating the parts of ourselves we often ignore so we can become more whole and self-aware. There's no AI reframing his work here just an effort to make his profound ideas accessible and relevant to modern audiences.

It brought up systemic racism. Does Jung do that on his own?

I didn't quite grasp what he was saying he took away from that experience with the patient talking about the sun. Was he implying that information is sharable via the subconscious or maybe passed down through genetics? It was kinda skimmed over and seemed to be quite significant if that was indeed the suggestion/"hint" he took from it.

17:28 "why do events, sometimes, coincidence in a meaningful manner?" It becomes "a meaningful manner" because the observer sees "meaning" in it, first of all...

When you are a slave to your ego, it feeds your unconscious. Living in constant fear, being reactive and ashamed, lying, pretending to be someone your're not, just to be accepted by everybody, etc. Living your life always looking outside to change what makes you feel uncomfortable, instead of looking in, is shadow = Ego. Facing your own darkness means: understanding where you lose your energy/power. We are here, on Earth, to know ourselves and to "burn" our shadow in order to go home, to light. Respecting our true nature helps us understand our lessons in life's challenges and helps us rebuild a stronger, more truthful self. We need to be honest and open to do the work, or it's like drinking water from an empty vessel.

Haha, I hear you @Abandz78 - Jody from Baby Boy is definitely a classic example of someone struggling with the puer aeternus-the eternal child. Jung would have had a field day analyzing characters like that! So glad you are you here! 😄

Can anyone help me locate the source of the person Herman (somebody?) at 17:48, from whom Jung began his work on synchronicity?
@OurTimelessWisdom
@OurTimelessWisdom 16 сағат бұрын
Welcome to OTW @douglasrenk981 - it looks like you’re referring to Hermann Usener, a German philologist whose studies on the origins of religious and mythological thinking had a significant influence on Carl Jung's development of synchronicity. Usener explored how humans create and interpret meaning especially around myths, which Jung later incorporated into his ideas about the collective unconscious and synchronicity. Jung also drew upon a broader philosophical foundation, including the work of philosophers like Schopenhauer and Leibniz, whose ideas on causality and meaningful coincidences contributed to his theory. For more in-depth details, you can explore Jung's Memories, Dreams, Reflections.♾️🧠
