To be compared/contrasted with the burial of Bishop Casey father of a son whle still a bishoppriest [alledged child sex abuser ] in the cript of Galway Catheral Ireland. 2019 funeral attended by an array of priests who at that moment were not aware of Child sex abuser allegations. This is mother church a crude domineering ,violent , loving , decietful compassionate old lady/man. A person to whom one cannot be indiffferent, whom one may love and still fight against whom one may hate and still respect

Another thing today is the hard problem of consciousness that baffles philosophy. That it rose from biology is being questioned. Even materialists who are scientists are becoming involved in the hard problem of consciousness. In the East they equate God with consciousness; God being all there is and as consciousness being all there is, both immanent in nature and transcendent to it.

The higher age understanding on human evolution in Eastern religion and philosophy is that there are fourteen versions of the human in a universal cycle all from and to a human prototype. This view is that there is human evolution but not from another species. This makes sense humans from another species makes no sense.

I think I have the same misgiving that the man with the purple shirt had in the question session about 1:26:58. A big part of Haught's argument is that people have to have confidence that their minds are capable of ascertaining truth. As the questioner said, the problem is we see lots of cases where people lose that ability. How do Dawkins and Dennett convince themselves they can do that? By studying the truth and finding empirical evidence they can find it. They then work with others to encourage humanity as a whole to follow the right practices for truth. I generally like Haught's idea of the "anticipatory" view of truth. But the irony is that he sort of sets science up as an authority competing with religion. He says we need to accept that mind did not come into existence until recently in evolutionary development. That actually seems a bit questionable. Quantum indeterminacy might even suggest there's an element of mind at the subatomic level.

It seems to me that giving up the idea of infallibility is essential for this next evolution in religion.

"I asked my students to imagine a life form summoning them into the woods...." Well, now, I have finally found a kind of interfaith Christian speaking my language. I know there are a bunch out there, having long tracked things like Yale´s Religion and Ecology program. Unitarian Universalist interfaith gave me a good foundation, anyway. "Modified pagan shapeshifting exercise...." Whoo hoo. "Ritually enact communion with our fellow life forms...." "A kind of forest deity." Hmm, I´d say "spirit". Thanks for this talk and food for reflection!

Incarnation and evolution are both wrong and against the attributes of God. The only basis is historical conjecture by churches under Rome’s hegemony which is squarely contradictory to the teachings of Jesus! Where is the teachings of Jesus?

@@johnohare69 We don't need any more "woo" or the Noooooo sphere, or Omega Points, or, we was only obeying New World Orders ... It's a form of a narcissism - when authors confuse their own speculative transhuman godbecoming models for actual reality - because they regressively fall in love with their own "products." No more whackamama pakamama pantheism Thank You!

He taught new age and his books could not be sold in Catholic book stores. He also talked about being possessed by a fireball of light that said it would be damned along with him or be saved with him. This does not sound like the holy spirit.

The Earth is cooler w the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer. To perform as advertised the GHGs require "extra" energy upwelling from a surface radiating as a black body. The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render such a scenario impossible. No greenhouse effect, no GHG warming, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming.

Cynthia is about the deepest mind of pulling together so many streams of Consciousness and mystical understanding. It is mind-boggling the depth and grasp within her knowledge. There is a gentleman named John vervaeke that is hitting along the same streams I wish they could have a talk together. They're both no-nonsense approach two consciousness in philosophical understanding would make for a rich experience. Pushing forward our Collective consciousness
