So, every weldment in stainless steel always has an area of weld decay?

Due to that you need to choose low Carbon stainless steel as 316L or stabilized grades as 321 or 347 for Welding applications.

@@zejean then why it is recommended to use filler like E316H for welding austenitic steel used in high temperature environment ?

@@mohammedshahreyar2190 Is that possibly due to the high temperature environment being above the carbide precipitation zone ? - total guess - I am looking at the graph at 3:15 (Figure 4)
