Hi, I have a Permobil F5 Corpus VS (2017) wheelchair. The footrest of the chair does not go all the way back. It does not stay at a 90 degree angle when in a normal sitting position. When I do the reset with ICS, the footrest goes all the way back, but when I try to change positions and then go back again, it does not go all the way back. Is there a way to adjust this? The chair has a joystick with a grean LCD screen. I could not find a way to access the settings menu. Thank you.

Anyone purchasing one of these x8's seriously needs to do research along with a good day driving it prior to purchase along with having a tech who knows how to modify joystick imputes , Magic Mobility should supply option to owners who are capable to set up there own chair when service centers are not capable like in tasmania ! So future owners research purchases

How do I adjust the width of arm rest to give a little more room
@clinicalmobilitysolutions2131
@clinicalmobilitysolutions2131 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for getting in touch. Depending on how wide the chair is already, yes you can. There are bolts on the seat plate that allow you to make the adjustment. The only other consideration is what armrests you have, if they're flip up, you'll need to adjust the backrest width too. I would of course recommend that you ask your local provider to support you if required. Good luck

Hello, how does it maneuver in small spaces? Best is M300 permobil or magic 360 ? I'm thinking about school (it's for my 8 yo son - big guy with muscular dystrophy). We live in the countryside and walk our dog. We would also dream of being able to ride on hard sand by the sea... difficult choice and expensive choice... he currently drives a Koala Permobil. Can anyone help us a little?

Thank you for getting in touch. Out of the M3 and Magic Mobility 360, the Permobil M3 will have the best turning circle. The 360, although still manoeuvrable, is designed more for an outdoor environment. We'd be more than happy to support you, if you're within the UK then we can directly or if not, we can still provide advice

Thank you for getting in touch! That would certainly present different challenges, my advice would be to look at the seating setup to see if there's anything you can do to improve your balance and stabilise your pelvis/spine. It'll make a huge difference to how you control the chair. Hope that helps!

I wish we had these types of go anywhere wheelchairs here in the USA where I live. Do you have any dealers in the United States over here like in or near Missouri. The electric wheelchair I just bought gets stuck on grass in my yard, and even tho I have not tested this idea yet but the electric chair I have now might get stuck if I drove it over a picture of the grass that's in my yard. I found out my electric wheelchair it's only for flat level floors and concrete sidewalks but I live in a rural country setting and if I want to see the outdoors I have to look out a window. An this is not living to me, I want my life and freedom back. Does your company have any dealers in the USA, an if so, where are they located at. Thank you

Atleast this one chair doesn't get STUCK when the tires touch the grass like the jazzy wheel (junk) chair I have. I can not take it outside, I live in the rural country and I don't have concrete sidewalks to ride on. I have a wood porch an after that is a wood ramp that lets me get to the yard and the grass but when my chair's tires touch the grass it is stuck on level ground and it just spins. If you are in Missouri in USA and live in the country, don't buy a Jazzy wheelchair if you think about getting outdoors to enjoy nature, you can't with a jazzy like I have. I'm been a prisoner in my bedroom for past 3 years. Im holding back what I truly feel in my heart and want to say. I know there are many more people just like me who got screwed over in life an we didn't do anything wrong. I just want to find a wheelchair that i go go outside with and not worry about not getting back safely, or able to even go without having to crawl back on my elbows. I can't go on like I have for past 3 years, it's not worth it at all.

I get mine stuck all the time. One issue is the force required to overcome the caster rotation of changing direction . If stuck going forward there is no chance of revering to try and get out again. I have the intermediate tyre as used in the video. Also easy to overheat the motors on gravel inclines or even through a meadow.

Thank you so much for your reply and input, always nice to hear other experiences. I definitely think that the size and profile of the castors would make a difference. Interesting to hear about the motors, have you fed this back to the supplier?
@Beaker159

@@clinicalmobilitysolutions2131 I have fed back through the SW area rep. The only vaster change they are looking at is a foot profile one that would keep the caters straighter and aid with going up kerbs and single steps. Australia has said the motor / gearbox noise is hard to diagnose, short of swapping out.

That’s wonderful that they will supply you with this expensive machine. You deserve it! Now I just wish they were more affordable so us non-VET disabled people could afford them or at least get some help from Medicare or Social Security. As it is, they will only cover certain chairs or scooters if they are for indoors only. I guess they want us stuck in the house so we die early! Anyway, thank you for your service🇺🇸 I hope you’re enjoying your ride!👍🏼

I like using the top of the joystick when carrying say a glass of water in that hand. I can hold the glass with the thumb and 3 fingers and control the chair with my pinkie finger. So i can carry a plate in the left hand and my drink in the right hand. My chair, the nipple always comes off of the joystick if i control it at the base of the joystick. That's a flaw with the Jazzy chairs. I like the thrill of going down a steep hill forward. And I'm somewhat ambulatory so i don't use a seat belt. But I've never fallen out on a hill. I tore my house up learning to use my chair, drywall, door frames, took 3 doors completely off. They were the cheap, thin doors on the bedrooms. One bump and they fall apart, so i just took them down and i use curtains for the bedroom doorways. Well, really just the one bedroom i sleep in. I left the other 2 bedrooms open. Just finally fixed and repainted my hallway which was the space with the most damage from learning to use the chair. I did all the work myself in my chair, which was a challenge to say the least. Thanks

Stating the obvious is OK. You did answer a question that always nagged at me: How can a wheelchair with less tubing weight more than a chair with more tubing--everything else equal? (At least that's how they are listed on wheelchair selling sites.) No one else has bothered mentioning that the tubing is thicker. It's not obvious in all the pictures. I always assumed the same tubing was used to make both chairs, so thank you for that. Mono-tube for me, only for ease of putting it in the back seat and is much easier to put my backpack and cushion in the open space "under the wheelchair". Also, I have a fabric sling that hangs underneath my chair. When I go grocery shopping, I can load 3 or 4 2L bottles of Diet Coke there which is very handy. The cross bracing would get in the way for getting it in my car and for putting things underneath. This vid was worth the watch, so I gave you a like.
