Fuck man, I didn't even play the game without much story knowledge but this just make me drop tears.

I actually just discovered the primals not knowing who is behind those great songs a couple of months ago. And when i found out about the song to the edge and how it resonates with soken facing and fighting cancer... i cant help but put my outmost respect to him and the team for being there for him since they found out. Thank you for making this game my most favourite game of all time especially yoshi and his team and the legend mr soken. Respect

Some people may not understand how difficult it is for older men to show emotion like this so publicly. And I can't comprehend it in conjuction with the stereotypically stoic Japanese culture. What a fucking tearjerker.

I started playing FFXIV over some months ago, and I just discovered about this and teard up... This team is the kind of team you want in every dev studio, they look like a family. They're still working together under the same roof, don't get me wrong, but man, they feel like they're all a big family... This is Final Fantasy XIV.

Seeing Yoshi wear Azem's soul crystal hit me like a freight train. FFXIV is a work of art and they entrusted us with the duty to bear witness to it. My duty will be fulfilled.

I only learned about Maidy today. Yoshi-P's reaction hits even harder now knowing that he had just lost another friend to cancer not long before this. Probably while Soken was going through it himself.

I like how Yoshi-P just faces away from the crowd. To hide his emotions when Soken was speaking. True friendship.

This made me pick it back up. I’ve never seen so much love poured into a game. The passion they feel for their fans and their employees and how they show it in their game is so beautiful. We are lucky to have such a great company handle this game. Thank you 🙏🏻

Blown away by the strength of will with this guy. Going through an absolutely brutal illness and treatment, but still working through the pain- cause he wanted to make sure the players had a good experience. All while hiding his illness from everyone, cause he didn’t want them to worry.

When people wondering why FFXIV became critically acclaimed MMORPG, just show them this! Everyone was and is working hard to make the game, but most importantly, they care for the fans. Oh, God, I wonder what goodness in the world so that we can have these two amazing people, Soken and YoshiP, and also all the staffs behind the Final Fantasy XIV.
@none5612 жыл бұрын
Yoshida turning his back and crying really shows that he really wasn't told about Soken's situation. It truly must've been heart-rendering to find out that your closest co-worker was battling cancer the whole time.
@midlanderhyur60352 жыл бұрын
Yoshida was one of the people who knew of Soken's condition from the start. Soken pleaded to Yoshida to let him continue his job even though he's undergoing treatment and it was Yoshi P who arranged for his equipments to be brought into the hospital. The only people who knew were Yoshi P, the CEO, the HR Department and Soken's Sound Team. I guess him breaking down like that is like the floodgates of emotion from keeping the dreadful secret for a long time, the fear he felt during those times that Soken might not make it and the relief that his best friend succeeded with his battle and was able to come back.
