Would have loved to have seen the Carolwood Pacific in its hay day! Because of Walt, we now have a 7.5 gauge railroad around our home 🏡

current technology could give us the real Dan Dare as he should be in Frank's style right out of the Eagle but when?

The Eagle was my favourite boys comic when l was a kid in the 60's . The artwork was incredible especially for "Heros (?) the Spartan" . Dan Dare and Digby were great characters too and the Mekon was and still is one of my favourite evil villains . lt was also an intelligent comic with good stories and information along with the cartoon strips . Happy days and a good time to be a youngster .

I went to an excellent Dan Dare exhibition at Southport Museum 2019. I later tracked down the original studio where Frank Hampson and his team drew up pages for Eagle. Love this video thanks, though a new upload at higher res would make it even better.

I've ridden on the trains not only at Walt Disney World but also Disneyland. I really love it. Walt Disney is my hero too. Also, he inspired me to follow my dream of being an engineer on my own trains.

I guess from later October until December 24, 1949 Walt Disney built the Lilly Belle locomotive which was named in honor of his wife Lillian Disney.

I have have seen all kinds of Imax process (2D, 3D, flat screen or dome) à the Futuroscope in France, but none matched Cinerama. I have seen all real Cinerama films (but Brothers Grimm) at the Paris Empire Cinerama theater. I have also seen the first two Kinopanorama films (the soviet copy of Cinerama). Replacing the triple Cinerama camera by the Ultra Panavision single camera wasn't a good idea, the shooting angle wasn't wide enough to provide the immersive effet of Cinerama, despite being projected on the same curved screen. Cinerama lost its magic, and audiences faded, which unfortunatly killed Cinerama... Many Cinerama films have been released on Blu Ray, I have them all, but unfortunatly my 55" screen is far too small to get the Cinerama effect !

I’m sure that someone , probably Frank himself, appeared on the Granada Television local news at about 6.30 way back in the early 1960’s. He had some illustrations, I only remember a Treen being shown. This would be at about the same time the Beatles appeared on the same programme, before national fame. I said they were rubbish. Does anyone else remember possibly Frank Hampson on TV?

I am so sick of stupid illiterates everywhere, even on KZbin. The correct term for rail track lines is railways, not railroads. Where the heck are the roads? It's a rail track, not a roadway. Geez, I bet even a stooge knows better when it comes to tracks and trains.
@luckyshow
@luckyshow 6 жыл бұрын
In the US, it was and is railroads or rail road as in Long Island Rail Road. The vehicles are cars, the right-of-way has a road bed of gravel. Sometimes, interurbans, which were electrified inter-city traction lines were called Railways. Some urban elevated lines were named Railways. In San Francisco, the Market Street Railway was a streetcar system. San Francisco streetcars are still Railways. In Europe they are railways in England. The first in US was the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, In US it is usually railroad

<The difference between the American term railroad and the international term railway (used by the International Union of Railways and English-speaking countries outside the United States) is the most significant difference in rail terminology.> Unless you were joking, you are the stooge.
