Thank you so much for uploading! I’ve been looking for a high-quality version of this performance since 2010!!

Looking back now, this is easily the hardest high school show I’ve ever seen.

I really miss the RCA Dome. The echo you could hear all throughout the stadium really made marching band shows sound so much cooler! It was the perfect venue for BOA competitions in my opinion.

I currently march kiski and i actually have one of these shakos from my cousin, this show was his senior year and it really is cool to see the progression this program has gone through

Do you have 2006 final awards?!
@evan-t-s4 ай бұрын
Is it true that the following year in 2003 they only announced the captions and who got 1st place? Must've been the shortest awards ceremony ever.
@kryswarfieldАй бұрын
Yes it’s true. I was there that night, and all of us left the stadium wondering what the other placements were lol. BOA was trying to experiment a way of making everyone celebrate the performances than the competition itself in a way. It was also their first year of presenting finalist medallions to all the bands, the way they do it now.

Prompted by reading that this was the best high school show ever, this was my first time watching it. Best high school show ever? Perhaps a bit of a hype. Still incredible, though: Over the years, I had only gravitated to Lassiter's redesigned The Wind and the Lion show of 1998 - when they, of course, were also Grand National Champions but with a score of 97.55. That year, they dominated all scoring categories with the exception of a small lead in Ensemble Visual Performance by runner-up Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. Three comprehensive high schools on one campus, P-CEP marched away with a reputable second place score: 96.3. Lassiter remained victorious in the end, soaring safely above a one point lead. In 2002, runner-up Lawrence Central HS commanded both Visual Performance categories but only by a small margin for a total category average only two-tenths of a point over Lassiter. Lassiter swept the rest. Lawrence Central finished with a total of 93.95. Lassiter prevailed with a lofty 1.6 point lead: 95.55. Lassiter's 2002 production was exceedingly demanding with an extraordinary execution by its student performers. The clarinet and French horn features and vignettes were beyond a field show's dream and the drill designer must have reverse-designed the final formation to intricately, seamlessly, and - dare I say - borderline dangerously lock into place from the previous set with exceptional artistry and musicianship by the ensemble: all together a true validation from its previous championship in 1998. Congratulations to All

Fun fact about this show: The kids were notorious throughout the season for interacting directly with the on-field judges during the show while in-character. They would get right up in the judges' faces while yelling and crying out things like "Noooo~! It's not tiiiime!!". The judges described it as "Creepy". One judge mentioned that a kid crawling around on the ground reached out for him and grabbed his ankle as he walked past.

Vanderkolff was hot off of Hide and Seek and popped off with this one.. surely one of the hardest visual programs ever given to a high school?? would love to see the visually superb Woodlands of the 2020s tackle a beast like this.

A battery of 8 snares, 6 basses, and 10 sets of plates...and it worked brilliantly! When I first came across this show a few years back, I was left scratching my head a lot, but coming back to it time and time again since that first viewing, it was the unconventional things (the battery composition, bassoon feature, live vocals which for the early 2000s wasn't too common) that made this show a classic, performed at such a high level. Worthy of being a national champion!
@Gltokensp066 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I was in the snare line that year, and it's mostly that we were just a HUGE band lol. They wanted BIG snare sound in this show which is why there were no quads weirdly enough.
