I need car that will have good mpg. I will be looking into this bright ornage fit tomorrow. 2018. I love the magic seats on the back. This car will be doing lots of miles for my job. I want cheap tires and breaks etc. I drive pretty slow so im hoping the slow car isnt that bad for me. I also drive a pretty slow 2000 4runner. And that thing is loud to me. So im not going to be downgrading too badly. I also like the idea of owning a dorky bright car once in my life. Edit well a quick goodly search told me both a 2000 4runner and a 2018 Fit have the exact same 0-60 so I'm not gonna be doing anything abnormal

Well gas mileage is the main thing this thing has going for it. And it’s cheap outright. You may consider looking for a standard hybrid though. I personally never felt safe in a vehicle so small. A lot of used sedans and hatchbacks are reasonably cheap and get the same or better gas mileage nowadays.

I love my Honda Fit 2008 sport jazz 5 speed automatic better compared to this Honda Fit. This Honda Fit is noisy compared to my Honda Fit. My Honda Fit is extremely fast with the pedals shifters in sport gear. Plus the multi stereo speakers has a much higher watts compared to Honda Fit made after 2008. My 2008 Honda Fit sport jazz was made in Japan.

@LetsDriveSomewhere2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can change almost any lights to LED as long as they fill fit and most sedans have that room. I was able to change every vehicle’s lights I owned (this Sonata was just a rental). I recommend VLEDs.com. They’re expensive but fantastic, insanely bright, and easy to install.

Interesting perspective, I am now driving my 2nd Honda Fit sport. The first I bought new in 2009 and drove it until 2020 when it was retired after 386000 trouble free miles. Retired due to rust. My present Fit is 2008 that I bought for $1500 in perfect condition with 123000 mi. As I am 79 years old it could well be my last car . By the way over the years I have owned over 100 cars many of the very pricy collectibles 👍😄🎩

4:10 "Nothing special about it" The fit has unparalleled chasis rigidity which gives it great handling in corners. Fits have even been used in rally races with suspension and tire upgrades and have won
@LetsDriveSomewhere2 жыл бұрын
Well this was a stock Fit EX so….. not going to win any races. Assuming there was nothing wrong with the engine (which many people have stated there probably was) this thing is never capable of winning a race. If it can’t even accelerate off the line at a stop light and keep up with normal traffic, I’d find it hard to believe anything stock on a Fit is capable of winning a race.
@xxslayer255xx2 жыл бұрын
@@LetsDriveSomewhere It's all about finding the right style of racing for the car. of course it is going to struggle in a straight line with its 1.5L engine. Instead you have to take it out on courses with twists and turns as heavy cars with large displacement engines cannot keep up with the lightweight and rigid chasis of the fit. Rallying is also particularly stressful on the car and requires modifications, but less intense racing like touge only needs good tires and fit excels. To say the fit is a bad car for racing because its straight line acceleration is poor is like saying the dodge challenger hellcat is a bad car for racing because its cornering on downhill mountain passes is poor. Completely different styles of racing with different vehicles that excel in both. As far as it being a 3rd gen fit EX cvt and therefore not winning any races, the trims of the fit mean nothing in regards to performance. You do not get a better engine even with the sport trim, but rather purely cosmetic aero additions. Perhaps your engine was bad, but the chasis rigidity and cornering performance would have still been apparent as the engine does not matter. CVTs are also generally less preferable for performance driving over the manual trans, but some do opt for them in downhill touge to keep the engine in a high rpm range throughout the race. Overall, the fit does have something special to it

Pretty fair review I feel, although I don't agree that it's a boring car. It's got real character, it's just not an in your face extrovert - and the sound system is better than many standard offerings in my experience. All the best.
@LetsDriveSomewhere2 жыл бұрын
It does have character in its design, I’d say. I personally really do like hatchbacks but I do think it’s rather boring in that nothing really makes it special or stick out amongst every other car out there. The sound system isn’t bad but it’s not great. It is a lot better than some of the other cars I’ve been in but not super powerful. Again, I think it’s a perfectly decent car (other than the speed issue I experienced in my particular car) but it’s just quite meh.

I’ve had a lot of cars, my favorites are always the most practical. Thats my honda accord coupe 96, my civic 95, my prius 06, my 13 genesis, and now my 18 fit! As a work vehicle, just for moving people, getting me to the gym, and hauling stuff, I love the fit! 2018 burnt Orange ex-l and i love her! Compact but not compact (im 6’5”), slow but fun to drive (I whip my pax around town!), and sexy in that good girl kinda way (my passengers love her once they see me drive her!). I think the fit is the best car out, and I’m sad they dont make them here anymore (😰). Nothing like a full day or 3 of working(rideshare full time), working out, and living out my baby (I shower at the gym, study at starbucks or barnes and noble, and basically store my things at my apartment) , then pulling up to the laundromat, throwing the clothes in the wash service, and folding the seats flat for magic just to go to sleep and grab some zzzzzzz’s. She’s like a mini mini van, and nobody’s looking. Don’t think I’m selling this one bro, but great video!

Getting these with a manual is a must if you want any sort of “fun” or better acceleration. They’re pretty nice to toss around corners without breaking speed limits. Personally I love mine a lot. Also I think the sound system is pretty awesome. Sure, it’s not a mark levinson, but for what it is, it sounds great and I’m really picky about audio. I think my only gripe is I wish it had a little more power and more comfortable seats. I couldn’t recommend these enough.

BUT, what about the gas mileage? You didn't say anything about a replacement vehicle for that.
@LetsDriveSomewhere2 жыл бұрын
I personally don’t particularly care too much about MPG. I don’t want a gas guzzler but fortunately gas is never too much of an expense for me due to a fairly short commute. From the Fit, I switched to an Accord that averaged maybe 30 and now have a Hyundai Tucson that averages somewhere around 25. A week from today I will be picking up my Tesla Model 3 so don’t have to worry about MPG again!

Well that’s a fun metaphor! 😂 The Jeep Liberty was actually just my brother’s car he wasn’t using while he was away at school. I currently now have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson which has been a (mostly) fantastic car! In comparison to the Fit it FIT my wants of more comfort, more features, and just bigger. My other “gripes” of being loud and slow were *mostly* resolved. Not the biggest fan of the dual clutch transmission. Although I may be making a “why I bought and sold my Hyundai Tucson” video soon. I’ll be upgrading to a Tesla Model 3 next…. Whenever Tesla gets around to building it!

I love my 2008 fit. I drive about 100,000 miles a year for work and decided to get a gas saver after I wrecked my 2012 Civic Si. It's not nearly as fast but it is a lot of fun to throw around the corners. This guy probably doesn't "drive drive" if you know what I mean. Though if I bought a Fit with a cvt i would probably sell it immediately also. If you get a Fit then get one with a manual transmission.

I loved your video! So honest. And I do agree with each and every word. After 19 years of driving a Mazda Protege5 sport wagon I got myself a used 2018 Fit. I'm an old guy now, 76, and figured I'd do less driving than before, so the used Fir could work. So far, it's lived up to what I expected. Not as fun to drive as the Mazda, and with a better ride, and actually less engine noise, the Fit works. No it's not a great car. However, it is a good one, and that's fine with me.

Thanks for the informational video, but can u plz let me know exactly which make model & yr car u decided to get to replace ur honda fit with? Ive been researching for a future car as I'm almost done paying my honda accord 2-dr coupe v6, and I want something that isn't a heavy car & is fairly quiet. I do seem to be leaning towards the 2012 or newer honda crossover since it has decent storage room in back & from online reviews it's fairly quiet.
@LetsDriveSomewhere3 жыл бұрын
After the Fit I got a 2014 Accord sedan. That car was very quiet in comparison to the Fit. I can thoroughly say it was quite loud with engine / transmission noise. I don’t remember much wind or road noise in the Fit. With the stereo up, you can get rid of most of the noise though. I know you can always add more soundproofing material to the inside of the door if you’re that concerned about noise though!

Most reviews of this car says to get the 6 speed manual and not the CVT. I believed you became bored because the CVT and/ or automatics, are not as engaging as a manual, especially when the vehicle is low on the power side.
@LetsDriveSomewhere3 жыл бұрын
I replaced the Fit with an Accord that also had a CVT and I loved the CVT. My mom has a CRV with a CVT. Both provided such a smooth and comfortable ride. Now I have a Hyundai Tucson with a Dual Clutch Transmission and I really dislike the transmission. It results in a very jerky ride when accelerating and certainly when trying to creep forward. I personally never gave any thoughts about transmissions but now I will!

This comment will prompt someone to comment “ok, Boomer…”, but things are certainly different than my younger years. Back then Alfa Romeo’s, BMW’s and the like were considered to be decently quick sporty coupes or sedans if they were in the 11 second range on 0-60 runs. Even later, 0-60 times in the high 8 second range didn’t keep the 1990 Miata from being a fun car to drive. I’m quite sure that a manual transmission Fit would be quite fun to drive on a twisty road. The CVT would suck most of the joy out of the car, even if the 0-60 times didn’t suffer…

Update 7-30-2021: So over three years with this camera and it still works as good as the day I got it! Most cheaper dashcams I’ve bought die within a year, usually during the summer when it gets too hot in the car. Excluding issues the SD card that came with the camera, this camera hasn’t missed a single clip in all those years. It is the most reliable dashcam I have ever bought!!! I highly recommend BlackVue dashcams!
