I just found this pose in Light on Yoga. And wow. I'm still trying to find myself in padmasana. Thank you for the video. I like the use of the chair to help get into the pose.

This is from my own personal practice. I don’t think anyone should practice dropbacks without the guidance of a qualified teacher.

I have chronic pain in my arm from a pinched nerve in my neck. I just bought what I thought was a good chair (in lieu of sitting cross-legged hunched over my laptop all day every single day, ) and the chair is hurting MORE. however, I just shaped my body in a position similar to in this pose, with the butt far forward on the chair, the head supported (pushed forward compared to the angle of the back, with the back rather arched on thick lumbar support against the back of the chair. THIS position does not hurt my chronic pain. (it might be a little much for the low back, but one thing at a time.) What does this MEAN, of anything?

I love the look of this pose and its possibility of being offered as an alternative to beginners. However, I don't have a long enough torso to easily reach the ground even with three foam block under the head and forearms. So the chair wanted to fall forwards, even with a sandbag on the seat. Suggestions?

Hi Robert! You can use a metal saw to shorten the legs to accommodate your anatomy.
