Great video. How long did it take to remove the tinset? It seems to be the hardest part of the job.

Tip: don’t handle tile with your hands unless you wear tear/cut resistant gloves. Tile can be razor sharp! Use a shovel to move it around. I also used a grinder to smooth things out.

Wow, man. That's the way to do it. The manual way, no power tool, is killer!! Thanks for demostrating ( :

I just removed the tile & concrete board with a pry bar & mallet. Put the prybar under the concrete and most the tiles popped right out.

Good for you but this is NOT a concrete floor removal and has nothing to do with this video. Your method will not work for tile thinseted to a concrete floor.

Guys, this is NOT a prying tool. Do not use your chipping hammers as a pry bar. You’ll ruin the neck of the tool and it will leak grease on no time and burn up. Just let the tool do it’s job

Thanks for the video this morning as a handyman jobs come along and you wonder if you want to do them at your older age - lol (btw 62 years now) Tom Brady at 46 or whatever he is is a fool as he should save his body and maybe his marriage - that aside enjoyed your simple video that brings us the no nonsense and such instead of wasting so much time on production value like some of the videos out there. I may have to get someone else to pull up the tile and then I'll set the new. Thank you AJ and God bless!

Thanks for being honest, love your straight forward comments. I'm 60 & fit. I'm thinking that tool will need a break every 1/2 hr for 15 min for me to recover. You're a little younger, how long till you needed a break?

I am just about 72. Pacing yourself is a great idea. Doing this kind of bull work intelligently will keep you going for a long time. Do not forget the steak supper with a good ale!

Could you go right over 12x12 commercial vinyl tiles? Also do you recommend using adhesive for the 1st strip and maybe every couple of rows as you go down?
@G5rry
@G5rry 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've seen others put it over existing tiles. The indents from the pattern or grout won't show through. Additional adhesive is not recommended. This is supposed to be a floating floor and it needs to be able to move.
