We have these at the hospital I work at and they honestly are probably the smoothest riding wheelchairs I have worked with.

Had this done a week ago. The first time was just bad because I was so nervous about what to expect. It didn't help I had to wait 4 hours before it was my turn, and that the laser was not responding properly and they needed to get a new suction cup and reboot the laser system (about 10 to 15 minutes). The laser show I got to see was nice though :D I was afraid that I would move my eyes and the laser would cut in places where it shouldn't. But I had no idea that the suction cup was actually keeping my eyeball in place. The second eye two days later was easy and fast. None of the days I did experience any pain from the laser, it is just a frightening thought that your lens will be cut into pieces, and that after that there is no return from that. The laser show the second time was less inpressive :D I guess it gets old fast :D I am shocked to read that in the US this is not paid by insurance. Even here in Portugal the ensurance paid the laser treatment and the insurance here in Portugal is not that great compared to for instance my home country the Netherlands. I guess that is what it means to live in the land of the free, free to pay your own medical expsenses :D

That's great idea, but i don't see that this spreading around the world and helping people who needed. It has been almost 10 year and nothing happend.

I used one of these today at Chichester St.Richards Hospital. SO MUCH EASIER! And the spot that holds a tank doubles as a crutches holder/walking stick. This chair is so much MORE!!!!!!!!

These look amazing! One thing that would make them unbeatable would be if the patient had access to brake abd unbreak the chair. So they can still maneuver the chair independently and safely lock the breaks.

Our hospital got these. Don't know what they cost but totally worth the money. Easier to push, maneuver, clean. Patients like them better than the old w/c's.

This product is bad for taking chest x-rays. They will still need to put a pull sheet under the patient so we can lean them forward to put the x-ray cassette behind the patients back.
