On a side note levis denim are slow faders so just enjoy them for their cut and forget about the fades. nudies, and iron heart seem to be fast fading jeans.

it all depends how many wears in that 6 months, if it's every day and highly active then yes it's gross. but if worn 3-4 times a week and less active most days it's not end of the world especially if you keep clean in the right areas.

How stretchy are these? I tried on a pair of original 511s in the store and the stretch was way too much and it lost the "heavy" cotton feeling. How do these compare to that? I don't mind a little blit of stretch, but I don't want my jeans to feel like sweatpants!

I just bought these same exact ones today. Did you buy true to your size? I’m a 32x30 and I went with a 32x32. They are a tiny bit snug but the salesman did tell me that they do stretch. I tried on some 33x32 but they fit pretty much perfect, but I was afraid of them stretching too much and being baggy if I went with the 33 waist.

Hey, I just bought the 511 Made and Crafted in 32x32 as well and I normally wear a 32x30, same as you. Question: did you get yours hemmed or does the length shrink when you soak or wash them?

yeah ive got mine and its stretching so much. mu regret buying the 32x32 instead of 31x32 pro tip: select a pair that feels uncomfortably tight then after 3-4 times use they will get stretched 2-4cm in waist size

I just bought online lmc japanese selvedge denim 511(not red thread selvedge of usa), raw colour. On tag,it is written that Crocking will happen. Now i have 2 questions...whether it is safronized or not? Whether it fades? can u tell me?
@--1929
@--1929 2 жыл бұрын
unsafronized or raw denim is very brittle and rough. you can almost immediately tel if it’s been unwashed, as it will feel stiff as cardboard. as for fading, fading occurs on all garments. however, the LMC line uses real indigo dyes, rather than chemically made ones, causing the fades to be more natural and contrast better. the best way to reduce fading is to 1. wash your clothes inside out (fabric is rubbing on itself, not off onto other clothes. 2. washing in cold (heat shrinks and fades) 3. line dry or dry with minimal heat. hope this helped! :)

The best is to wash it in washing machine with a short delicate program and temperature at zero degree, AND with liquid soap, not powder, that’s very important. About the liquid detergent, I do my grandma’s tip: using a liquid detergent for wool. (Trust me, it’s magical, for all types of clothes) I also add a liquid softener. The final result is that denim looks very soft and thick, I don’t know how to explain, gives you the feeling the denim is better, better quality, more luxurious. And plus it avoids the denim to crease, you even don’t need to iron it. (Not like on your video) This “technique” works with all clothes too, same results, my clothes look and feel even better than brand new, I swear you. It’s fucking satisfying 👍 EDIT: my favorite Levi’s are the 512, they’re just perfect... And match with all kind of shoes!
