I never went to Africa and put people on boats and enslaved them. It's been 2-300 years now. And there where centuries befrore that that white women was enslaved by Aricans and Midle easterns for sex slavery. I don't blame anyone for that. Why should I?? A thousand years ago we took slaves, raped and murdered. It's sadly a part of human nature. But I don't hate Germans. Both of my grandfathers fougth in WW2. Every race since the dawn of time has been enslaved at some point. This is a historical fact. Imagine if we all wanted to hold everyone accountable? Where does it end? Then, I’m Caucasian, but my ancestors were never in the US during slavery. So not only did I not personally participate in that horrible shit, neither did my ancestors. I’m of course speaking of the 5 or 6 generations previous to me. I cannot know what atrocities could be in distant history, but honestly, I don’t want to know. I just want us all to live. Smile at each other. Hold the door open- lend a hand. Treat each other like human beings. We definitely cannot apologize for the amount of or lack of pigment in our skin. None of us should feel we need to. Love and respect other human beings. Period. And that is how we move forward. Otherwise, yes. We will leave the world in shambles. My dad was an orphan during the great depression sent to a catholic orphanage. The 2nd day there they served prunes and white rice. He said he wasn't going to eat it. For every meal afterwards, while other kids are getting something different, the cold rice and prunes were at his seat. Needless to say, he ate the prunes and rice when hunger overcame his will. Never again did he take for granted his next meal and learned a work ethic to make sure he was the most valuable employee, even when reduced to sweeping, mopping and buffing floors in hs 60's. While others were complaining about minimum wage , he ended up making more than some managers and they recruited him to teach the others across the region to do the floors like he did. He gave me the gift of the work ethic also. When the homeless have "learned dependence" let them starve. They will have 2 choices, work or steal. Either way they get to eat and survive, whether through the jail system or their own self dependence.
