It's not 'forcing diversity' but a good reminder that *all* should be made welcome and the preacher makes a good point of the consequences of a 'chequered and trouble past' of segregation.

Erm...didn't our Saviour encourage social justice? Read The Sermon on the Mount and 1 Corinthians 13 as examples of His teachings, as well as the story of the Good Samaritan. Might do you good.

@@heathertaylor-nicholson9387 Jesus was never concerned with how many of his listeners had dark skin, as if it's a problem that the audience isn't completely balanced in their racial makeup. Preachers are supposed to preach the good news, not be concerned with skin color. That's the type of "social justice" I'm talking about.

@@Are_You_Sure_Bro Maybe the preacher was making a good point that a portion of God's people have been subjected to segregation in the past, and are still subjected to racism, and still need on the whole to feel welcomed into that particular church and that the good news is that things are starting to change. It's a good example of the Gospel in practice and the congregation needs to know that. It's interesting how this this has suddenly become a 'positive discrimination' issue rather than a community one with a positive message.
