Stay away from this hotel! I arrived alone at 10:30 PM and was given a room with four single beds on the top, 16th floor. Upon entering the room, I noticed an unpleasant smell but said nothing as I was only staying for one night. After placing my belongings in the room, I went straight to the Harem Mosque. When I returned at 3:00 AM, I tried to sleep but couldn't because the air conditioning pipes in front of the window or on the roof were too loud. I tried to reach the reception, but the number listed on the room phone was no longer in service. So, I went down from the 16th floor to the ground floor to find a solution. The receptionist told me that the technician wouldn't be available until 10:00 AM. Is this a joke? I will be at the hotel until 12:00 PM anyway and then travel. The hotel is surely not fully booked in the middle of July. They could have given me another room to sleep in for a few hours. An Indian staff member, whom I asked for advice, confirmed that the room indeed smelled. He also said that the noise was typical in the upper floors because of the air conditioning. They could have given me a quiet and non-smelly room. Instead, they started arguing with me. When I requested a cancellation, it was denied. My entire night before a long journey was ruined. Never again an Emaar Hotel!
