Thanks for the video. Thank you too Doreen for your story. I have had Ltmphodema for over 20 years and like you I was told to lose weight and elevate my leg also was given Lasix to get rid of the fluid. I evetually suffered from a DVT. But still just went on doing the same thing. I might add that my doctors really were not all that helpful. I got to the point where. I could only wear baggy leg pants because the swelling was so bad and the pain just kept getting worse. So I finally took matters into my own hands and went o You-Tube to find some more information. I began by getting rid of the fluid by drinkind more water, wearing my compression socks during the day and wearing a Velcro sleeve at night. I also started to take care of my skin as well using a good moisturizer daily. It took a good month but I lost over 12 pounds in fluid and my calf measured 4 inches smaller. I also cut way back on salt and sugar. I just started to use mesage therapy as well. Im also exercising , more walking. I have lost 25 pounds in 3 months. I went to my primary care doctor who is happy with what I have accomplished but I wish I could say that I got all this advice from her but I didnt. I guess if you really want to get this under control you must do this for yourself. 😊❤

I purchased this device recently and I like that you can change the screen from graph to number display. Also it is loader than most doppler units. Also, I like the memory card as well. I am a midwife of 30+ years and have used so many brands over the years. Thank you - Huntleigh Health Care! Midwife Charlotte

I am age 84, heart patient, have stage one lymphedema, apparently resulting from double knee replacement surgery, most swelling in right leg. Swelling goes down considerably by sleeping with legs raised. I am starting wearing of velcro wrap to control swelling. I have been informed about IPC therapy and may consider it if swelling cannot be controlled with Velcro wrap, exercise, etc.
@GavinDummett-uz6mh Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, Sorry to hear you have stage one lymphedema and are struggling with treatment. IPC cannot be used on all patient and we have the following contraindications below; IPC should NOT be used in the following circumstances: • Known or suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, thrombophlebitis and acute infections of the skin, such as cellulitis. • Decompensated/severe congestive cardiac failure, pulmonary oedema associated with significant limb oedema or any condition where an increase of fluid to the heart may be detrimental. • Severe arteriosclerosis or other ischaemic vascular disease. • Active metastatic disease affecting the limb. If you are uncertain whether you have any of the above conditions please consult a physician or your lymphedema specialist before use

I am so thankful for your video. Also to you Doreen ❤ i so empathise with your condition and your symptoms and how its effecting your life. Im so sorry your in so much pain. Its miserable. I had breast cancer three months after losing my mum. I had cared for her for four years. After chemotherapy and a full masectomy and lymphnode removal i started to get constant skin infections. I also had terrible swelling all over my body. The pain also and the stiffness was excruciating. I also suffer from cellutis. I have chroinic fatigue & live with chronic pain. I also can hardly walk. Ive had no help with my lymphedema, cellutis ive been told its depression. I am in shocked how ive been treated with this condition and how doctors failed to diagnose me with this & the cellutis. Ive now got PTSD due to trying to get help for 5 years. I am on a diet but its hard to maintain because of inflation. I cant work and my life is now resulted in doing nothing as its to painful to move. My arms are so swollen and my stomach is too. My calves ankles and feet are burning feel on fire all the time. I wish you well and all the best thank you again for sharing your story ❤

In 2013, right after my lymph node biopsy and before any chemo, my left leg ballooned. Neither of my hematologists knew what it was. I had to inform them! 😡 Leg returned to normal after chemo 2014. 2018 I started having left leg infections and now it's swollen and VERY painful. Compression garments and some physical therapy sessions helped a bit. Just recently my leg swelled a bit and is VERY painful. This time though it's not going down, in spite of the therapy and lymphatic massages and compression pants/socks. I'm trying to get one of those auto inflate leg machines to reduce the swelling and PAIN. Dr. has me on Morphine and I'm about to start Oxycontin. I still workout at the gym 4-5x a week but want to be able to walk my dog again! 😥

Hi I’m Doreen in the film I had my knee operation that went really well , unfortunately Lymphadeama does not go away but with the help of the LympAssist machine it is helping me to keep it under control and I have not had any breaking down of the skin or cellulitis in my legs since using the LympAssist machine, it also keeps my skin soft and helps me to walk . Could not recommend this machine more

Losing weight isn't going to help. I've seen skinny people with this disease. The lymphatic system is damaged and doesn't function as it was meant to. There are some drug trials going on at Stanford, but who knows if and when they will become available. It's a constant struggle. And manual wraps are so difficult...

My cousin has this disease. Can you explain what makes it painful? Is it the excess weight from it..? Or the legs rubbing together that's painful
@Deborahtunes Жыл бұрын
@@lorenalorena7078 ~ For me, the only time it hurts is if a lot of pressure it put on my legs. Such as if I stoop down. Because of the lymphatic fluid in my legs. Or if I bang my legs on something. Doesn't have to be hard. A slight hit can be painful...

Edema can occur in any part of the body. But the most prominent one is the one on my ankle I saw my doctor but he tried his best and it wasn't productive. I was home on a Sunday evening while going through some posts. I saw Dr Iyhere herbal post on youtube and I made a decision to try out this man. He proved me right with how effective he was and the swollen ankle reduced in no time.
