My favorite Sturgill song. I want it played when I die. Along with All Around You by him. I had life changing psilocybin mushrooms trip hearing some of his stuff and the universe put him in my path. I grieve my dead son through his music. It's amazing.

Probably the most haunting and morbidly-depressing song I've ever loved.
@freeman70795 жыл бұрын
T Mst in retrospective, it is very haunting. But I don’t think he meant for it to be depressing back when Cornell actually wrote it. It’s just a song attempting to empower others to be optimistic about an after life, and to avoid contentment with a hypothetical eternal darkness. If anything, it’s meant to be introspective and uplifting. Basically saying ‘do not live your life under the assumption that everything is meaningless. There is something waiting for you after death; perhaps another ‘sunrise.’ The lyrics feel so much more powerful after his death, however. I can’t help but wonder how he felt about this figurative “sun” in his final moments.

Greg McKee's solo is better than Chris'. Know it's a pipe dream, but I wish he'd tour with McKee as a second guitar/lead.
